  1. It doesn 't need to be black, it only needs to make sound and /or emit strong vibration.
  2. It adds a lot of weight if you do it with wood, but if you do it with aluminum the weight increase is minimal compared to doing it with wood.
  3. Max HP is 25. Smaller lakes ? how small ? cuz let me tell you, La Sauceda not far from home is a small lake and it can get quite scary when the wind blows hard.
  4. Don 't own one, but a friend of mine does ----->AWSOM !!!!!, that 's what I think.
  5. If kept in their original bags in a fresh environment and away from direct sunlight they last indefinately, got a big bunch of bags of Culprit 7.5 inch ribbontail worms I purchased more than 20 years ago and they are still as fresh as new.
  6. And there you are, you can see a couple of big mommas following the bait, you feel the adrenalin rush as you expect any of them to bite the bait, you keep reeling in, you begin to sweat, oh boy the suspenese is killing you and then suddenly ......... out of nowhere comes a bass the same size of your bait and strikes it with vengeance ! > which of course causes the big mommas to loose interest in the bait and the teeny tiny bass not to get hooked cuz the bait is too large. :-? It takes a different kind of angler to stand that over and over again.
  7. Oh boy, after fishing with braided you are going to need keeping a close eye on the braking system, CXX is not exactly "limp" and in 15 lb test it 's even less limp.
  8. Bloating occurs because gas expands inside the air bladder at a much faster rate than the system can eliminate it, true, however you are refering to an event that occurs when the fish is pulled out of the water, but that 's not the point of the discussion, we 're discussing if changes in the barometric pressure affect the fish activity or not and if this issue changes the depth at which the fish will be located. Barometric pressure changes occur naturally throughout the day, if not accompanied by a change in the weather or in the conditions then it becomes a "no event".
  9. The air bladder is not a simple ballon filled with gas, it 's a very complex organ which forms part of the bouyancy system of the fish, it 's designed to compensate for changes in pressure by the active displacement of gas in and out of the air bladder by two means, the pneumatic channel and by capilary blood vessels, changes in the air pressure do not affect the fish because the air bladder eliminates from within or incorporates gas as needed to compensate by any of those two means, gas can be eliminated or incorporated by burping or by gasping through the pneumatic channel or removed or incorporated through the circulatory system via the capilary blood vessels.
  10. Choices are pretty simple when it comes to Megabass jerkbaits: Vision 110 and Flap Slap, choose the color you like.
  11. I don 't agree with that, it is worth the money but not everything Megabass makes is worth spending the money in it for bass fishing. I fell in love with the Griffon the moment I saw it on-line, oh man I drooled over that bait for a couple of years, then finally I got 4 of them, so the package arrived and I opened it in a hurry ( oh well, you guys know what I mean ) and felt dissapointed when I finally saw the bait in the flesh :'(, crap, it 's beatiful, the level of detail is incredible but...... too danged small ! :-[, I was expecting something about the size of a Wiggle Wart size 5 ( 2" ) and this itsy bitsy bait is far from being that size, not only it 's smaller in length but in overall size. I 'm not going to say it doesn 't catch fish, it catches truckloads of them only catch is that it catches truckloads of dinks ( 6-10 inches ). The Margay Stepcat is another bait not for bass fishing, same problem, too small. The Type X ( the frog ) is a really cool looking bait, good size, catches many fish but you get the same results with the Rebel Wee Frog, of course the Wee Frog is a lot cheaper and it 's not as cool looking. I 'm not sure if I will ever spend more money in purchasing a VibX, got a couple and I don 't see much difference in catch ratio compared to other lipless cranks, the only special thing about them is the paint job. The Cyclone, DeepX 100, Deep X 200, Bait X Concept, Pop Max, Flap Slap, Vision 110 and many other baits sure are woth the dough.
  12. Seen that several times in several places.
  13. Confidence......yep it plays a role, but there 's also technique which many haven 't honed to near perfection, you may have all the confidence in the world but if you don 't have the technique your confidence pretty soon dissapears, caught my first 10+ pounder with a hard jerkbait, caught my PB with a crank. Just as you pick a sinker, a soft plastic, a hook and a rigging and fishing technique you can choose a crankbait cuz there 's plenty from where to choose. But what can you expect if you don 't know your tackle ? to many crankbait is just casting out and reeling in but serious crankbaiting is a lot more than that. Some of the best crankbait threads were written by Chris long time ago and the man really knows about crankbaiting, many here should seriously read those threads.
  14. Well, somebody otta write an in depth thread on buzzbaits cuz I suck at buzzbaiting, can 't catch even a cold with those and I cross my heart I 've fished with them extensively and nope, can count with my fingers how many fish I 've caught with buzzbaits.
  15. None of you two guys are crankbait guys. Crankbaits also catch fish consistently.
  16. Bass are bass anywhere. It 's nice to have a lot of baits, it 's more important to know a lot of rigging and retrieval techniques. I'm just wondering which ones catch bass MOST consitently None and all, consistency is where it 's always been, in the guy holding the rod.
  17. When did BPS start carrying Megabass? About a year ago.
  18. There 's no such thing as "the best line" there 's only a favorite line, mine has been Trilene Big Game for over a couple of decades. Not that I haven 't tried others.
  19. You only have to mind about the barometer when it 's associated to a weather pattern, if not then it doesn 't care what the barometer reads.
  20. If you mean these: TW has a bunch of them.
  21. Ok, here we go .... again :, reality check: Who gets upset and why you think it gets upset, it 's ole banana breath ! he don 't get upset with nuthin ', it don 't matter how many baits it can hold, you spent in baits and in the box ----> mission accomplished ! Now you get touchy with what you purchase and carry ? my foot patrol box consists in a 3600 Plano, packed full with Rapalas, LCs and Megabass lures, add some of those really kool looking japanese soft plastics and -----> mission accomplished again! So you really truely believe he get upset ? ..... nah, I don 't think so !
  22. No.
