  1. Go for the IMX, is at that level where GLoomis shines, there are a lot of other good rods in the GL2 and GL3 level for about the same or slightly more money. One of the main reasons I have GL2s and GL3s is because they are priced about the same here in Mexico than in the States ( 5 dollars more ) so they are good rods and better than what we can find here like Shimano, Compres cost as much as a GL2 and they are far form being as good as a GL2 so between a Compre and a GL2 I 'd rather jump on the GL2, the same applies to Crucials, they cost about the same of an IMX, no need to say which one I would buy. I can feel the difference between a GL2 and a GL3, between a GL3 and an IMX. Sorry to say I can 't feel that much of a difference between an IMX and a GLX. :-/
  2. Avid, you have a Sol and a TDZ don 't you ? any of those reels can cast easily a fluke.
  3. Pressured may mean, like in my case, having a guy fishing every 30 yards all along the shoreline plus 10 boats in a 500 acre lake every weekend, add to that crystal clear water and you have yourself a neat place to really learn how to catch fish, after that every lake without that kind of pressure is a piece of cake. So here we start for by the principle of not trying to locate the fish cuz most probably the most likely places have either being banged all day long by the guys on the boats or the place is already taken by the guys who got there earlier, we part from the principle that the fish are there and it 's a matter of making them bite, now you know how I developed a bag of diry tricks and bad luck charms throughout the years. The key when faced under such circumstances is non-conventional presentations and rigging methods that nobody else knows about or fishes with and forget that there were other guys there.
  4. It comes with the territory, we us guyz here down south don 't got much time to "organize" nuthin ', we 's too busy feeshin.
  5. Yeah, being "organized" isn 't fun at all.
  6. That sounds like my everyday fishng day starting in March and ending up in late October. Go fry some bacon on your sidewalk and leave us alone. It's hot! Whiner.
  7. Well, the wife :, got married to an "organization" advocate that likes to see her house "organized" and imaculate clean, nothing bad about it, I just let her do her things as she likes them as long as she don 't interfere with my stuff, me being a tackle junky finds it hard to keep up with the bait inventory packed in boxes some of them who haven 't been opened in several years, as new stuff gets in old stuff gets forgotten. So last Saturday SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED AT ALL COST came from the service/laundry/dog/warehouse room gave me THE LOOK ( ya 'll know what look : ) and asked me what I had in an old carboard box : ----> - What box ? I asked :-? Took me to the service/laundry/dog/warehouse room and pointing at it - THAT BOX RIGHT THERE ! > - ( Uh oh, should have kept my mouth shut :-/ ) I have no idea what 's inside. - There 's no label indicating the contents so I must assume it is yours ( her crap in her boxes has labels indicating the contents ) and I WANT you to check what 's inside because I need the room to store other things ( should have seen that one coming, why is it that they always catch you with your guard low and your pants down ? :-[ ) - Ok, let me see what 's inside So I opened the box and ....... most definately it was mine , inside I found several packs of brand new Mann 's 6" Augertail worms in colors they don 't make anymore, several packs of Mann 's Mannipulator worms, Culprit Jerkworms, Mann 's Lizards, Mann 's craws, more Culprit ribbontail worms and stuff like that ( I remember that I had those but since we have moved twice they got "lost" : ) Not bad ! , a good couple hundred dollars in baits I 've forgotten about for years ;D, it really looked like if you were looking at an early 90 's BPS catalog when they carried lots of Mann 's and Culprit products. - I WANT you to organize your fishing stuff ! you 've got boxes and packs of all that stuff all over the house > ( yeah, right :, "all over" ---> a pack of worms on the dinning room table ) - What you suggest ? - Remember last week when we were at Walmart that I showed you those clear storage boxes ? ( Should have seen that one coming too : ), those are a neat way to have all your excess stuff stored and "organized" where you can quickly identify the contents, specially "those things" ( "those things" = fishing tackle ), go and get some ! ( now she didn 't catch me with the guard down, I saw that one coming ) So I went and purchased several of those 6 quart Sterilite boxes and proceeded to "organize" my stuff during the afternoon, haven 't finished yet but at least I took away the "corpse delicti" out of her eyesight. Which made me think, well, they are brand new, fresh as the day I bought them so why not fish with some of those ? I grabbed a few of those Augertails and went fishing Sunday morning. Man I have really forgotten how effective those things were when I fished with them before they got "lost", really kool those 6" Augertails on a shakey head, at the slightest twitch of the rod the tail wiggles like crazy. Don 't know if it was the way the worm worked but one thing is for shure I caught more fish with them when other baits didn 't work as well.

  9. Statistical mistake those were the results of the poll. A poll showing a determined preference for X or Y doesn 't mean it 's the best, it 's the best from the universe of those who voted on the poll. I 've owned two Quantum rods and I can say that they are far from being "the best" of what I 've owned or own. My old Berkley Lightning rods were a lot better than those Quantums.
  10. No Chronarch B and no Chronarch Mg.
  11. Hmmmmmmmmm :-?.........nope ! ain 't it just plain kool ? ;D
  12. Not really. It 's a matter of apllication and knowing what 's out there, fish don 't have to be in agressive mood to attack and be caught with a crankbait, you can catch fish in neutral or non aggresive mood with crankbaits if you fish with the right ones.
  13. Oh yeah, I would change a couple of things in them, 1.- Drill some holes to the frame to shave some tenths of an ounce 2.- The dry drag for a wet drag 3.- The color scheme, something more eye catching and groovy, not that I don 't like silver but it 's too serious looking. What is a wet drag and a dry drag? Read RMs post, to add, the difference with wet drags vs dry drags is that dry drags can be very finicky, lubricant and or water contamination of the drag pads can make the drag system to malfunction and loose smoothness causing studdering while under pressure, at moments you have an operational drag others you have the opposite.
  14. In how many ways you know how to rig a plastic worm ?
  15. It depends on how you rig it.
  16. Because nobody fishes for them or there 's very little fishing pressure. My relatives don 't have golf course ponds but they do have irrigation ponds in their farms. Fish there seldomly see a lure and since they are off-limits to anyone but the family members and actually I 'm the only one that fishes I take my 5 year old and ocassionally fish the ponds so he can catch fish ( which almost granted ), almost a fish per cast is the norm.
  17. I do not agree with that.

  19. Team Daiwa TDZ or Shimano Chronarch Mg.
  20. BassChump, it 's not a matter of bait color, it 's not a matter of bait size, it 's a matter of application of the rigging and fishing techniques that can be applied to soft plastic baits. Don 't ask which rigging technique works better, all of them work, some work one day, anothers work other day, light penetration, weather patterns, water temperature, depth, bottom composition, bottom contour, water clarity, water color, cover type and ammount, all those variables come into play when selecting rigging, fishing technique and bait type that suit those conditions best. This is not like following a recipe, it 's about creating a recipe with the ingredients you have within reach and the only way to make the dish is by experimenting on your own. There are no "rules" you have to follow.
  21. It 's not the taper what counts.
