  1. Not true, mineral oil ( liquid parafin ) is inert. Some colors bleed out from the baits, two of the most notorious ones are chratreuse and red shad which btw is the king of the bleeding colors ( red shad will bleed out with or without oil ). The oil you find in bait bags is mineral oil, it may be scented or not. Do not use kitchen oil, kitchen oil is not inert and decomposes at contact with the oxygen turning rancid.
  2. Don 't get carried away too much with what Daniel says, the only version you can find in the States is the floating version ( reason why I didn 't mention the other versions ) cuz you guys apperently aren 't much into ordering stuff outside the US market. My friend Daniel and meself belong to another kind of victims, ooops, sorry I meant "customers" , we belong to the kind of customers who had blown their last funcional brain cell a long time ago when we purchased our first JDM bait and don 't give a rat 's arse if the product has to travel thousands of miles and pay exhorbitant shipping charges. Now, you seem like a good guy Paul, I can feel that you are just about ripe to follow me and Daniel down that road, since you are a good guy we 'll be happy to welcome you into the group.
  3. And you are quiting after only 60 backlashes ? :-? man, seriously, you need to grow some tuffer skin.
  4. Nope, same color between the 100B and the 200B, the only one with different color was the 200BSF. The way to differentiate a 100 size with a 200 size without having them side by side is the front face of the reel, 100 size reels have a convex face ( look at the Citica 100DSV, Curado 100D and Chronarch Mg ), the 200B size reels have a concave face ( that "groove" you can appreciate surrounding the levelwind ).
  5. Dude, LE 's wood grain like reel seat and pearl brownish finish don 't match the pearlescent black and red accents of the Core , it don 't look good ! If the reel were red ( like a Fuego ) or mattè pastel red ( like a 2005 Pixy ) or frosted gold ( 2003 Pixy ) or shiny gold ( Sol ) then it would look good.
  6. Given the condition in which the reel is it 's no surprise it 's not green anymore, it must have been exposed to strong sunlight for a lot of time. It can 't be an original 200 model, all those had a flipping switch on the upper part of the reel It obviously can 't be an A model, A models were racing red/orange with a black stripe running along the mid center of the reel It 's obviously not a D model It 's a regular ordinary old Curado 200B that took a tan. It 's not green, it used to be green; now, there is another possibility, that it 's not a Curado 200B but a Curado 200BSF, BSF Curados were not the same green as their regular counterparts, but a lighter more goldish chameleon green which looked brownish under the light in certain angles, but I doubt it 's a BSF, BSF Curados had an aluminum gold anodized tension knob cap, and the one in the pic doesn 't have that aluminum knob cap.
  7. Diesel is getting more expensive because nowdays oil companies can obtain more gasoline per barrel of oil than they used to a few years ago ( better refining technology ) so the ammount of diesel that can be obtained from a barrel of oil diminishes proportionately to the ammount of extra gasoline they obtain from the same barrel, less diesel per barrel of oil ---> more expensive fuel.
  8. Hold it my friend, just because you see somebody reeling in steadily at X speed doesn 't mean it 's the one and only way to fish the bait. You know how to fish jerkbaits don 't you ? You know how to fish cranks don 't you ?, You know how to fish topwaters don 't you ? You have to experiment different types of retrieval alone or in combination until you find the one who makes the fish bite the bait, that 's it, no "secrets" . I get more bites with that bait just by letting sit there and twitching it ocassionaly than by reeling it in steadily.
  9. Here 's one:
  10. No s*t ? :-? There you go:
  11. Cuz every single internal combustion engine that don 't run on gasoline runs on diesel, it ain 't a leftover, it 's fuel.
  12. I 've got it and it 's big brother too, cool baits, you catch lots of fish on either but even as cool as it is it doesn 't outfish a Vision 110.
  13. Very slow day that 's all ----> too much time on my hands. Now back to business, if you are planning on getting more 1.5+ oz baits I do recomend getting a more powerful rod ( something that can cast 1-3 oz baits ), you achieve better distance, better presentation and casting easiness than by overloading your rod. Get a swimbait rod, simbait rods not only can carry the load easily, they also have long rear handles ( which you don 't find in conventional flipping sticks ) that allow you to cast with both hands comfortably and with a lot less fatigue.
  14. Manufacturers do not underrate their rods, on the contrary they tend to overrate them. By exceeding the lure weight rating you overload the rod and it doesn 't cast the bait that well, it 's something that you can feel ( overloading ) when you cast the bait. You are not going to mess up your rod, it ain 't gonna break.
  15. Get split ring pliers for the job, they make you life so much easier than doing it with your nails and fingers. These are good. The ones found in LC baits are not mediocre, just different.
  16. Split ring, not O ring. Change the split rings for new ones, a split ring that allows the line to slide underneath the opening is a kaput split ring.
  17. About every two or three casts.
  18. Water parasites is one, them leeches ain 't pretty. Now, protecting yourself from hipothermia is more likely.
  19. I don 't keep fish on a regular basis, if it bleeds and dies I ain 't gonna leave it to the turtles, you want to keep your fish ? no problem ! as long as you keep your limit and the fish are of legal size, it 's your priviledge. I don 't keep fish over three pounds, bass here in my neck of the woods get obese over three pounds, lots and lots of fat everywhere and the meat is too "fishy" tasting for my taste, with a 2-3 pounder you get a couple of nice fillets. 1-2 pounders are great simply fried on a pan, less than a pound it 's a no-no, not only it 's illegal to keep them, there ain 't much meat either.
  20. I 've fished with spinners since the day I began fishing for trout more than 3 decades ago, when I moved to troutless country I found out they worked on bass too ( and don 't come telling me I should have known cuz where I lived there were no bass and my only fishing experience was limited to trout ) so if it works I 'll use it. In line spinner size is important, avoid sizes 0, 1 & 2 for bass fishing, 3 size are good, 4 & 5 size are better. The regular Vibrax you find in most places is a mid depth runner because of the Indiana blade.
  21. They are "in stock" as long as no picker has passed them through the scanner when they fill an order, once the order is filled and passed through the scanner the items are substracted from the inventory, so there 's a high probability that your order was picked after somebody elses and there you have it, you are backordered on that item.
  22. There are very few good quality multipiece rods that come into my mind, Browning manufactures some ( BPS ), however if I wouldn 't consider purchasing one of those, if I were into it like you I would certainly look for a rod with more substance. Major Craft 's Sa-Ku-Ra You can order it from Plat Excellent service ! I recommend it very very highly to you.
