  1. Choose the color you like, I personaly prefer worms with high content of metal flake because they shine.
  2. Shallow spools are not small, shallow spools are regular spool size but with a wider core.
  3. Or a shallow spool reel.
  4. *** is one of the best.
  5. There 's no such thing as better or best way, the best for today may not be the best for tomorrow, that depends on many variables like water temp, water clarity, structure and/or cover to be fished and so on, it 's a matter of application. Finesse worms work best when: T rigged C rigged Split Shot rigged Wacky Rigged Dropshot rigged Shakey head rigged Jighead rigged and on and on, the array of rigging methods and their applications are in practical terms endless.
  6. Oh yeah, listen to the man, them little parts like springs got a mind of their own, they jump out of the reel and go boldly at warp speed where no spring has ever gone before.
  7. Try to land quietly a 3+ oz swimbait. : Bass are inquisitive creatures, at first when the bait lands some run like a bat out of hell looking for cover, but then someting happens: "what the heck was that ? " And they come back to see what was all the fuzz about. "oh boy ..... it moves ! " :-?
  8. Brush piles complements are not structure, structure is what those brush piles are sitting on ( the bottom ), so you have two elements: cover sitting on structure. What determines if the brushpile is improductive or productive or how productive a particular brush pile is in relation to the others is the location of the brushpile in relation to other elements that come into play which are other types of cover, other structural features nearby, where it 's located in relation to elements like wind direction, depth and current, that is why not all brush piles are as productive as others. Lets say for example that the brushpile is sitting on a flat and there 's nothing else more attractive than the brushpile in hundreds of feet around, everything around the brushpile is barren terrain, then that brushpile will be the fish magnet, now let 's add something else, you got the same brushpile but there 's another a couple of hundred feet away but located shallower where light can penetrate enough to have a few weeds growing around it, the effect of those few weeds is so great that the fish would rather be on that one than on the other even though to your eyes the first one is better looking. That 's exactly what you are looking for, the more features the better.
  9. Another pic farther towards the creek channel:
  10. X2 Of all the lake I can always catch fish here, the only time I don 't is in the extremely rare ocassions, which makes two in the time I 've lived here ( 28 years ) when this feature is out of the water. It sits on a flat normally between 30 to 45 ft deep, it extends for 30-35 yards ( x 20 yds width ), the flat on which it sits ends abruptly at the old creek channel which is bordered by willow tree stumps:
  11. There ain 't no muskies in my neck of the woods, so, I would have to try them on them big mommas basses.
  12. Not exactly for bass in mind but they look effective: Play the Video
  13. Unnatural ??????? Please explain. I suppose that he thinks the lure must be realistic in order to catch fish, something you and me know it 's not true.
  14. Cartopping is done as a need not as choice, if I could carry my boat everywhere and everywhere I could launch it from a trailer I wouldn 't have purchased a tub for starters.
  15. Hooks don 't snag on artificial turf and it 's not available only in green, my friend 's boat has blue artificial turf, mine has green cuz they were out of blue at Home Depot and since I wanted to do the job right away ( after burning my rear end a couple of times :-/ ) I didn 't mind purchasing green at all, it doesn 't look bad either, it would have looked better with blue but what the heck, better "not exactly what I wanted" than burning your arse everytime you sit.
  16. I assume that for Catt that 's the way it works for him.I fish crankbaits and spinnerbaits the most and I like to slice through the different levels of the water column with them, I 'm not fond of bottom bouncing baits ( worms & jigs ) and only cast them after I 've sliced through the water column.
  17. The senko is a stickbait. The Fluke, Shad Assasin, Slug-go are jerkbaits.
  18. Expensive ? yup, not the most expensive I own but if you are on a cash diet they are expensive. Worth it ? oh yeah. Overpriced ? nah, I don 't think so And that comes from somebody who is a Rapala fanatic.
  19. Yes they do have HEG gearing.
  20. Unless you caught it with your bare hands you still had to use a hook didn 't you ? and that hook was manufactured by someone, same applies to the string
  21. As from where the money comes from, in some cases there may be a price in cash ( in Mexico the State of Tamaulipas offers 1 million dollars in cash to whomever catches the WR in any of these two lakes: Guerrero or Sugar ), in other cases the money may flow from tackle manufacturing companies. Let 's say that I catch the WR fishing a Shimano reel, a GLoomis rod, Berkley line and a Rapala lure. That makes at least 4 manufacturers ( Shimano, GLoomis, Berkley, Rapala plus VMC hooks ) willing to pay me to put my ugly face endorsing their products cuz the moment I caught the fish I became a celebrity. Now let 's add even more, the day I caught the fish I was wearing Costa del Mar sunglasses, a Columbia fishing shirt, Levi 's trousers and Nike sneakers, I was fishing from a Ranger boat which has a Minnkota TM and a Johnson outboard, my lures are packed into Plano boxes, I purchased my lures, rod, line and reel at BPS so the list of manufacturers and /or dealers grows. That 's where the money comes from.
  22. Everyhwere you find certified scales, your local supermarket or grocery store has several certified scales. When IGFA says certified scale doen 't mean it has to be certified by them, it means that the scale in which the fish is weighted has to be certified by whomever authority is in charge of accurately take the weights and measurements. All scales used for the sale of products by weight has to be certified, all of them are verified and inspected several times a year and stamped to prove their accuracy, otherwise it 's illegal to use them.
  23. Made in China, made in Thailand, made in Korea, made in Malaysia, etc doesn 't mean a product is lousy or of bad quality ( not many years ago Made in Japan meant lousy and bad quality didn 't it ? ), it only means where the product was made. Made in any part of the world with low end components means low quality no matter where it was made.
  24. There ain 't no "seasons" down here in the deep south.
  25. Bingo ! the defective/broken rod should have been sent to StCroix, besides, they did honor the warranty, you gave them a broken rod ( worthless ) and they honored you $150 didn 't they ? you had to pay $20 more for a replacement on a $170 dollars rod.
