  1. Oh boy, The Force is strong within you.
  2. Don 't know if I should laugh or feel sorry for you.
  3. It depends on the fishing technique, that mean that for some techniques I use a Curado B38, for other techniques I use a Alphas Type F, for others I use a Curado 200B and so on.
  4. Line visibility can be important for you or for the fish ? sometimes yes, if you fish crystal clear water all the time I feel line visibility is important to the fish. But, how about you ? one of the main reasons I don 't like fluorocarbon is that it blends so well that I can 't see the line and for me line visibility is important, I 'm short sighted and have to see the line to maneuver my cranks through timber or I need to see the line to detect is a fish is sniffing at a worm. You got any idea how many times a fish bites a soft plastics and you didn 't know it was doing so ? many, many times the only thing that tells you a fish got you bait is because you see the line moving a little.
  5. I feel exactly that way, the spirit of the forum is for me is: share all you know. That don 't mean I don 't still think Quantum reels are junk.
  6. The Beast ---> 0 The BaitMokey ---> 1 Don 't know about you but I 'm purty shure the score is going to increase on behalf of the BaitMonkey as the year progresses.
  7. 160 for a GL2 :-? ----> somebody somewhere is trying to screw you.
  8. Because a pro does it don 't mean you have to do it, a pro may quickly run out of baits on a weekend and may have to replenish the T-box a lot more often than you so it doesn 't matter that the baits are exposed, other pros may not carry them in T-boxes but carry a bunch of bags, same principle applies, a bag of baits may last them a couple of weekends. But you are a weekend warrior , so baits will last you more so you gotta keep them protected from exposure to the elements. A plano 3700 can hold 4 bags of baits per row of compartments.

LETHAL T-exposed weedless Sam , rig it backwards ( by the tail end ) and it glides away from you.

The only problem I find with this particular bait is the size, with barely 4 cm long anything with fins takes a shot at it, it 's one of those baits I 'm really thinking about sending a few samples to Del-Mart to have a mold made but for a larger version ..... but I can 't think about how big it should be. :-[ I 've got about 100 pcs of this one: I know Damiki makes it but for whatever reason they are not in their website :-?, found them with a guy that sells factory seconds in a swap market.
  11. People asking about which is the best rod for under a buck are some of the most common threads, no need to place a sticky ---> ignore them.
  12. Very good rods for the money.
  13. d**n! thats cool !! what type of boat is that? Carbon fiber seagull wing bottom hull, reason why it comes equipped with a 15 HP even though it 's only 12 ft. But you can do that with a 12 ft jonboat with a 10 HP.
  14. You know how it is, after the "secrecy" is revealed everybody goes crazy for it, reason why the Slugo was hot in the 80 's.
  15. Well, I certainly understand your point, but there have been a few "Magic Lures" over the years. The first I ever knew about was the original Floating Rapala when it was introduced domestically in the early 60's. The next was the GYCB Senko, thirty plus years later. I bet some of the first swimbaits were considered "Magic", too! 8-) The Slugo in the late 70 's.

Nuff said ! I only wish he made a larger version.
  17. Bad wood.- recently in the water Good wood.- been there for a long time
  18. That 's exactly what I told my compadre yesterday.
  19. It 's a matter of perspective, after fishing with a GLoomis IMX you cahnge to a Berkley Lightning Rod and you will say that the Lightning is so-so ( of course when you compared it to an IMX ), I own Lightning Rods and IMXs, I say that Lightning Rods just as Shimano 's Scimitars and Clarus rods are excellent for the money.
  20. We all have pretty much the same baits in our T-boxes, we all have cranks, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, jigs and such, we all have the same tools. The principle here is: as long as the bait moves like if it 's alive and an easy prey a predatory fish will attack it, it doesn 't matter if it looks or mimics something natural, it only matters if it behaves like if it 's alive and an easy prey. So think of fishing like cooking, you have the ingredients of the recipe ( your lures ), you have the recipe, you may follow the recipe step by step but that doesn 't mean you 'll make a great dish, what makes a great dish and what differentiates a regular cook from a great chef are not the ingredients nor the recipe, it 's how those ingredientes are mixed together. Will you catch fish with "unnatural" baits ? Absolutely ! So where 's the catch ? Where it has always been ----> it 's in the chef where the magic is, behind the rod handle. Don 't overthink it, keep it simple !
  21. For the better part of my life as a fisherman I 've fished from the bank, even now when I do have a boat I still fish from the bank most of the time, so, you don 't need electronics to "locate" fish, you locate fish by looking at the structure, which structure ? you walk on, stand on and look at it, how long ? it may be 10 min or it may be more, if I feel I 've covered it well enough without results or after miliking it thoroughly then I move on.
  22. Are Jitterbugs still great? It 's not easy for a lure to stand after 50 years in the market.
  23. From what you have to this:
  24. Not all crankbaits are created equal and most of them are more equal than others. There are some baits that have something special and most times you have to go to tenths of baits to find that particular bait that is special, I know it being mainly a crankbait fisherman; if such is true for plastic baits with wood baits it even more true.
  25. Every single rod I own when it doesn 't travel in Da Feechin Machina travels inside a rod sock and then into a rod tube. When they travel in Da Feechin Machina they can travel in the rod holders installed on the ceiling of the SUV. It doesn 't matter if the trip is short or long.
