  5. Honestly ? I got hooked on them like 10 years ago, purchased several and ..... never caught anything, for me they are like Heddon's Cousin II but better looking so I keep them as collector's items.
  6. Well, -31 there, +32 here, not bad !
  7. There may be differences, some models are only available in Japan, for example the Calais 100A in America was only available right hand retrieve, JDM was available in both or like the Chronarch 200B/Metanium XT, the Chronarch ( american version ) had better finish and was available in 3 models while the Metanium ( JDM ) was only available in one model, so you will have to check. As long as you purchase from a reliable seller ( specially a RECOMMENDED one ) you shouldn't have any problems. JDM hold better their resale value if you maintain them in good condition.
  8. 84° ! too bad I have to work.
  9. yes, I have purchased several Shimano JDM's from Japanese sellers in e-bay.
  10. Spartacus, one of my favorite movies !
  11. 80° toooday, heck yeah !!!!!
  12. DO NOT, DO NOT BUY THAT REEL !!!!!!!!!! Because if you do you will be spoiled forever and ever. Chronarch 50Mg + GLoomis CR723 IMX and nothing has been the same ever since.
  13. It's simple, between those two it's not even a contest: Chronarch.
  14. I can spend all day long with a 5" grub, with all the available terminal tackle that simple but mostly overlooked bait turns into a feesh ketchin machine.
  15. Sooooooo ...... here I am spending my time waiting for the temp to hit 80 ....d**n, we're close, 78° today.
  16. Let go Luke ! Trust your feelings and may the Force be with you ..... BaitMonkey ad sponsored
  17. Hundreds of dollars would be hanging here if it wasn't for that BPS plug knocker I purchased decades ago ..... better have and not need than need and not have, specially when you love to fish with those friggin' 25 bux a piece Japanese cranks.
  18. Goddamit ! Tomorrow is going to be 69° , gotta pull out that jacket cuz it's going to be cold. Come on Spring, can't take these low to mid 70's anymore ....
  19. It just hit me today is my wedding anniversary, 20 years.
  20. Goddamit it's freezing down here, 18°C and it's going to drop to 3°C .....
  21. Here's the deal, you need not only a reel capable of casting light stuff but you will also need the rod to do it, you can't cut corners there. Daiwa reels with "SV" spools can cast very light baits, back in the older days I would have said a Daiwa Pixy but those are no longer in production and later models of Daiwa reels like the Alphas series ( including the Sol ) were capable of doing almost the same and had much better and more powerful drag than the Pixy. On the other side, you can purchase aftermarket SV spools and all you will need is the reel.
  22. I do pre rig them, how do I store them -----> wrapped around my finger ...... oops, sorry, was listening to The Police, wrapped around a piece of styrofoam.
  23. I have something like 150 spinnerbaits in all sprts of weights, blade combination, skirt color, 99.7% of the time I fish spinnerbaits is with the same bait, 3/8 oz single Tennessee white skirt Strike King, so, to answer your question: how many spinnerbaits do you need ? 2 or 3.
  24. Honestly ? I no longer pay attention to "forage" regardless of what species it is nor do I trouble myself with "matching the hatch", there are no itsy bitsy spinnerbaits schooling in the waters I fish nor I have ever seen a trout in the warm water lakes I fish most of the time, the only thing that matters to me is trying to make my lure look "alive" and behave like if it's an easy prey.
