  1. The old trusty and reliable Curado 200B5.
  2. That 's cuz CXX is for uprooting stumps and Hybrid is for slicing them in half, different applications.
  3. There are variables that are in your control, you can modify them; there are other variables that are out of your control, you can 't modify them, you can 't change the moon phase, you can 't change the weather, you can 'change the water temperature, you can 't control current, you can 't control water clarity, the list is long, there 's absolutely nothing that you can do about them other than adaptaing the variables that are under control to fit those variables you can 't control, there are no shure shortcuts, the difference between success and failure depend on your ability to adapt, learn to play with the cards mother nature has dealt you for that day. Based upon those principles and given the fact that I 'm not able to go whenever I want but when I can I 'm not going to wait until the variables I can 't control are in optimum level all I can do is adapt to them.
  4. Yes there will be big fish and if the pond is old and has been stocked for a long time sometimes you get a surprise, there aren 't many big fish in a little pond, the pond can only support a few large fish but those few large fish are usually pretty big.
  5. Some things I 'm prepared to loose, jigs, worms n 'stuff like that ( you have no idea how many jigs I 've lost in the first cast ), others like cranks ---> get a lure retriever, best money you 'll ever spend.
  6. Oh well, I do like the way the GLoomis looks.
  7. Good baits and for 3 dollars even better !
  8. From that list ---> none GLoomis MBR782 IMX Why ? cuz I 've got that reel and that rod matches perfectly.
  9. My spinnerbait setup is a GLoomis CR723GL2+Curado 200B/Alphas Type F.

    bargains

Some of the bargains I 've found: TDZs for $200 at Cabela 's a couple of years ago, man what a deal !, I "saved" $600 dollars of the retail price after paying $800 for 4 reels. Got 2 Daiwa Pixy for $240, during the GinRin Peche meltdown when the regular price was around $325. Rapala lures at 1.99 @ BPS clearance bins. Problem is you can easily go broke "saving".
  11. P-Line CXX ----> uproots stumps Youzuri Hybrid ----> slices stumps in half
  12. Sega Bass Fishing Duel is the answer to your prayers.
  13. Yeah, and you you won 't have to shell out 200+ dollars to get a reel capable of casting teeny tiny baits.
  14. Don 't know about you but it 's getting scary, 2,3,4 years old threads have been leaving their graves too oftenly these past months :-/........ Dang, I know why ! , it 's all them Michael Jackson 's THILLER videos they 've been playing lately since the death of the King of Pop.
  15. In my neck of the woods there are no salamanders ( lizards are terrestrial creatures ), hellbenders, water dogs or whatever they are regionally known, soft plastic lizards work very well.
  16. I have a 6 year old boy and a 4 year old girl, I don 't go fishing for me, I go fishing for them, the girl, oh well, the girl isn 't hooked on fishing and she 's more focused on running and playing with her girl cousins. The boy is another story, he is focused on fishing and whenever I take him fishing the trip is his, don 't even take my rod, I 'm there to direct him, also, I have places where fish are small, dumb and barely ever see a bait so they are very easy to catch and what drives him is that he 's catching fish, all day long otherwise he gets pretty bored quite fast.
  17. The Pixy is made for finesse fishing, the spool depth is for line under 10 lbs, the drag is for line under 10 lbs. Many people have modified the Pixy for doing something it was not meant to do by upgrading the drag ( not an easy chore and better doen by someone who has done it, it 's not just only changing the drag pads ), but you can 't add more depth to the spool, it will always be a shallow spool reel. The Pixy excells at what it does, casting light lures ( 1/8 oz and less ) effortlessly and with good distance, change the drag to do other chores and fish with 1/4 + oz baits and it becomes a very good reel but with limited line capacity.
  18. In hispanic countries our mother 's maiden name forms part of your full name, my name is Raul Gutierrez Constante, see the relation ? Constante ..... like Constantine, I can make evil spirits appear in the flesh like he does.
  19. going on here. Having him on your back is one thing but ... taking him fishing with you ?
  20. Length of the bill Placement of the eye in the bill Shape of the bill Angle of the bill
  21. Uhhh, there must be something in the air that has been resurrecting 2,3,4 YEARS OLD threads lately.
  22. I used to own a Calais 100A ( sold it get me a TDZ ), a friend of mine has two Calais 200. Weight aside: Calais ---> no HEG; Core 50 Mg ---> HEG Calais ---> don 't let the bearing count get you, 4 of those 10 bearings are in the knobs. Calais 200 ---> not the newest technology there, the reel has remained the same since it was launched to the marke, doesn 't stop it from being a great reel. Calais 100 ---> more modern reel but still no HEG.
  23. I would do a search to see if you can find somewhere a Daiwa Procaster PR100H better known as Procaster 6+1, it 's been discontinued for about a year but it 's one heck of a reel and it used to cost only 70 dollars.
