You bet it is specially when I worked my entire summer vacations in order to purchase it, that and a 5'6" Silstar MH rod to go along with it, my very first BC combo, caught a lot of fish with both.
No matter that has SHIMANO stamped on it I will never again purchase a "composite" frame reel, that's the promise I made to myself the day my cherished Silstar Starlite Pro bc sccidentally slipped from my hands and landed from waist height and broke it's reelfoot.
Hmmm, I've fished for over two decades with Big Game, have caught thousands of fish with jerkbaits, actually my first 10 lber was caught with a jerkbait and .... godang, I never thought I was fishing with the "wrong" line.
If you feel 12 lbs is too stiff then use 10 lbs.
Of course, what the hell do I know ? I have only been in this sport for just over 40 years .....
Spinnerbaits, lipless cranks and above all, Jitterbug, why Jitterbug ? Not because it's the most productive, it's because I love the sound and the suspense ..... gurgle, gurgle, wham !, I could catch 3 or 4 more times with spinnerbats and lipless crank but those don't gurgle.
Yanks age well, we us dudes in the deep south need all the protection we can get specially when you are white or you'll end up looking as "fresh" as a 3000 year old Egyptian mummy by the time you turn 50. Seldomly I take a look at my face in the mirror, yesterday I did and for crying out loud, I never was good looking but let me tell you ..... that sob I saw is down right fugly ! He had wrinkles everywhere .... not a pretty sight.
It's called GYCB Senko, 4" to be more specific, watermelon red flake.
I got swimbaits, several of them, soft and hard, haven't had any luck catching biguns with them, jis and worms are a different history.
I had a Kunnan rod, 5'6" MH with Fuji reel seat which I purchased after I broke my Silstar rod. It's the only rod I ever sold, a friend of mine liked it very much and repeteadly asked me to sell him the rod.
