Serioulsy discharged batteries can be damaged from being seriously discharged, they drop the charge in an eyeblink so it may not be the charger but the battery. I killed a couple of batteries for not charging them full after use and leaving them there for months without charging, then I plugged them to the charger, charged them for use a couple of days later and to my surprise they were discharged, took them to the place I bought them and that what the first thing they asked me, if I charged them before storage, said no, the technician took a look at them and gave me a bonus ticket for 20 dollars discount per battery in the purchase of a new one.

Swimming senko knock off ? not really, Sawamura One Up Shad knock off. Which is fine for me, them Japanese soft tails are expensive, add the shipping costs and they become more expensive, plus they are really really soft so the durability makes them even more expensive, to make it worse, hard to find. >

BC reels don 't come with spare spools. You can get a spare from Shimano, check the schematics of the reel, the spool comes as spool assembly ( spool, bearing, VBS block ).

Snap-swivels are only for baits that rotate and cause your line to twist like in-line spinners, spoons, pre-rigged worms, not for cranks, you can use a snap for cranks.

Well, you just dial as much as you need.

Yup, I still use my old gear ( rods and reels ) on a regular basis.

This is the ultimate antibacklash system: So better reels do have better braking systems, so if you are a rookie I strongly suggest you get a good, reliable braking system while you are in the process of learning. I would add another 20 to that budget and get a Citica.

Banjo minnow ? Don 't know about you but I just can 't see the banjo anywhere :-? It 's more like a ( put here you favorite guitar player 's name ) minner. To me it looks like a Hendrix minnow. BTW, kool job.

I 've got a bunch of some of the finest reels you can buy with your money ( TDZs, Chronarchs, Alphas n 'such ), my wife gave me a Citica E as Xmas present and let me tell you ... what a fine reel for 120 dollars, heck it 's a lot better than my trusty old Curados B which cost the same back then. So Citica E is what I recommend.

You can use what 's left in the reel as backing and fill with fresh line. It 's not good to fish with half of the spool filled, the line is so tightly coiled that it will be like fsihing with a slinky.

You can rig it either way, but in theory the bait should be rigged by inserting the hook in between the tentacles, that way it sinks away from you.

It 's not about the line capacity, it 's about the line being wrapped over a larger surface, about having larger drag pads, anout having a larger, more responsive and fluid drag, about having less line memory, less coiling, larger diameter coils. That 's what it 's all about when it comes to line management, just beacuse it 's for finesse doesn 't have to be tiny.

Poles worl well from shore, only problem is that the longest one I can remember is 15 ft in length and since fishing follows Murphy 's laws there you are with your 15 ft long lure retriever pole and your bait hung up 15 + ft from you.

Them munsters are getting finicky lately Kent, or at least they are getting finicky in the lakes around my hometown ( finally after almost a year and a half I fished with "manly" bass gear last week ), the rest of the time I 've had to fish teeny tiny offerings with Mickey Mouse gear better suited for panfishing ( in theory ), 2-3" senkos, those Tail less grubs, Grass Minnows, Baby Assassins, Finesse worms, 3 inch Sluggos n 'such have been my tools, don 't know if it 's because suddenly there has been an explosion in the number of anglers beating the lakes to death on an almost daily basis what 's caused the fish to become so picky about the regular baits, they just ignore the larger baits, even the smaller bass are choosy. Rigs and techniques I seldomly used are now meat and potatoes for me. For ex, last week I went to my everyday lake ( the one with lots of timber ) well, I took my manly gear and ..... I caught nothing ! for the better part of the morning until I tied a 3 inch senko fished wacky unweighted style, all the fish I caught ( 1-3 pound fish ) were the fish I regularily caught with the regular baits, I switched back to a 5" senko and went for about an hour without a bite, switched back to the 3 incher and back into business. The lake was packed with boats and except for us nobody caught anything.
