  1. All the way around, 9.8 oz not 8.9.
  2. There 's only one lure I fish with a snap-swivel combination and that is an in-line spinner, I haven 't found yet an in-line spinner that doesn 't twist the line no matter what the manufacturer claims, they all rotate when the blade rotates, the snap-swivel avoids the line from twisting.
  3. Too funny ! ;D
  4. Well, getting rusty will eventually happen to anybody sooner or later, the back, the elbow, the shoulder, the coordination, the sight ain 't what it used to be :-/, man when I was in my 20 & 30 's nothing hurt, nowdays if it ain 't one thing it 's the other. :-X So, now I gotta be treacherous.
  5. Which lures are "best" depends upon many factors, what may limit your selection would be cover density/ type, bottom composition and slope degree of the impoundment, adjust your baits to those factors, if there 's a lot of woody/weedy cover then fishing with exposed hooks in not a very good idea and so on.
  6. It affects the bouyancy, but sticcking a weigth to the belly of the bait you turn a floating bait into a slow rising or neutral bouyancy ( suspending ) when you need to. Storm manufactures self adhering lead strips and lead dots for that purpose ( Suspend strips/ suspend dots ).
  7. Once I had a "bad" experience with TW, I ordered several swimbaits and I was short by one item ( ordered 6 and got 5 ), I e-mailed them and they asked if I wanted a refund or the item, I asked for the item and 3 days later I got it. Nowdays most of my tackle purchases are for TW, excellent service.
  8. The problem the series had when it first came out was that the levewlind stuck, there wasn 't much space in between the line guide and the worm gear cover, problem that was immediately dealt by Shimano by sending you a repair kit. The 100 size Curado D was an improved version of the old trusty 100 B ( lighter, lighter shalower spool, metal cast control knob, metal drag star, speton grips ) the 100 DSV had the same improvements but with the deeper spool identical to the one found in the Curado 100B. The 200 size were really good reels and were more comparable in features to the old Chronarch than to the previous B series. I have a Citica 200D ( same dimensions as the 200 Curado D series but with less features ), nope, the reel is not larger than a 200 Size B series Curado. Putting them side by side for comparison the only difference in dimensios is the slighly longer length of the reel because of the pointy front end, what makes it look larger is the big HEG gearing housing on the handle size, this does not interfere with the palmability of the reel, the "bulkiness" is apparent, but not truely real, what makes it feel bulky is the weight, weighting nearly 10 ounces is far from being the lightest modern baitcaster out there.
  9. I have, actually that same design is the one I have been recreating in some in-line spinners I fish in my timber/brush infested lake because it 's weedless ( something a regular in-line spinner is far from being ), it still catches fish.
  10. Uhhhhhh ...... I don 't have a favorite, less alone an "abslute favorite". :-?
  11. Well too bad you hook that species of pleco, it 's worth nothing, if it were other species of pleco you could have got pretty good money for it, some species are worth hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a piece.
  12. Well, when you hire somebody to do something you got to make yourself perfectly clear with what you want the people to do, the term "clean" in this case seems to be too ambiguous so it 's not the cajun 's fault but BPs management fault, however I must say, what can you expect from the management of a company that forgot to plug the hole ?
  13. I have and use both, makes no difference to me.
  14. Yep, I 've got them and fished them, little bit small for my taste even though they lift even the sand ( lots of dinks ). T rigged weighted, weightless, C-rigged, d-shot rig, jighead rig ( impaled or nose hooked ), split shot rig, in practical terms, most rigging methods can be applied to them.
  15. Hey, that 's what we do at the boat when the fish ain 't bitin '! gotta kill time somehow. However I must say that when you reach a certain age you can 't trust your rear end too much.

    World Cup

My family has a stadium box for the local stadium, I 'm not much of a soccer fan but I ocassionaly go to see the local team ( Leon ) play, man if you find that sound annoying while watching an aired game you should experience it in the flesh ..... and to make it even worse, my home is located not far from the stadium and one of the streets from where the traffic from the stadium flows after the game passes right next to my house, so not only I "enjoy" vuvuzela sound at the stadium when I go but also when I don 't go > , vuvuzela, horns, screams, flags, win or loose the local club it don 't matter.
  17. To tell you the truth ..... I do both and to me it 's the same if it 's spinning or bc for C-rigging.
  18. Round Abus are great reels but the reason why I don 't recomend them has more to do with me having a problem with the reel size/width/height vs palmability/comfort, got small hands so they just don 't feel right for me. But, if you want is a cheap reel built like a tank and practically bullet proof then a round Abu is your poison.
  19. Braid ---> ok Any other kind of line ----> NO Braid poses no problem, the line doesn 't have memory, but nylon, fluoro or copoly have and retain the memory, the deeper you go in the spool the tighter and smaller the coils and since the line has memory the more it will retain it for being spooled on a smaller surface and it 's not going to go away, you 'll be fishing with a slinky, also you will experience line manageability issues, not only it will look like a slinky it behaves like a spring, in a spinning reel the line will jump from the spool when you open the bail, in a BC reel it will jump in the spool and wrap creating backlashes.
  20. I don 't pay attention to moon phases, I would if I fished a tidal system or at sea, but 99.999% I don 't fish either, I fish lakes, mostly small lakes so how much rise in the water level you can have ? an inch ? 2 inches ? 3 inches ? how about a foot ? since I can 't modify it I just have to learn how to deal with it and for me in the 3+ decades I 've been fishing full moon means it 's going to be windy so it 's not how the moon phase affects the fish but how it affects the weather what counts when I 'm going to fish, I fish for the weather not for the moon phase; and like Jig man said: I have found that there is almost no correlation between numbers or size of fish and the moon phase. That 's what I 've found too. Now, if what you want is a scape goat for not catching fish consistently well, you can always put the blame on the moon phase.
  21. Well, you can find very nice 2 piece rod if you don 't look for them at Wally World, it 's a matter of searching or asking where ya know.
  22. Heddon did not purchase anything, Heddon is one of the many brands that form the PRADCO conglomerate ( Arbogast, Heddon, Bomber, Yum, Cotton Cordel, Smithwick, Rebel, etc, ) and yes, they have been not only discontinuing lots of baits from the different brands they own but also they have been dissapearing brands they owned ( Riverside ). Now if you can 't find it at stores you can still order it direct from the company: www.lurenet.com BTW, it 's out of stock.
  23. Man, it 's one of this two, alone or in conjunction: 1.- I 've got too much tackle 2.- I 've got a too small house I don 't have a man-cave ! :-[ I 've got a small space for my stuff under the staircase ( aprox 1 m x 1m x 1.3 mt ), shelves, shoe box size plastic containers plus tackle boxes where I store my tackle, outboard, gas tank, lawn mower, boat seats, anchor, fishfinder, reels, battery, battery charger & gas tank & two piece rods. One piece rods are stored in their tubes in the bathroom.
  24. Back in the old days 2 piece rods were far from being ideal, blank quality, metal jacket joints, poor sensitivity made them pretty crappy; but that was then, now it 's completely different world, the worst modern two piece rod is light years ago from those rods of yesterday, of course, like usual, you get what you pay for, better multipiece rods ( 2-3-4 ) are not cheap and premium multipiece rods cost the same or more than premium 1 piece rods. So it 's a matter of how much you want to spend, however I must say, the trunk of your car is not a good place to store a rod.
  25. The Zillion gear set will not fit the Fuego, the TDZ 103 P ( 5;:1 ) gear set does.
