  1. It depends on the blade size and blade configuration, I have these old big double willow Strike King spinnerbaits and I want you to try reeling in steadily those suckers with a 30" IPT reel for an hour, put on a double Colorado spinnerbait and try keeping it from jumping from the water with the same reel; "burner" reels are not new I've had this Daiwa PT33SH for more than 2 decades and I know what I'm talking about when it comes to reeling in fast, it doesn't always work and not all baits work well so you'll have to choose, that's the reason why I don't have "dedicated setups", I do know for sure that any spinnerbait will work well and you won't have any problems with a 6.2:1 GR reel. For slow rolling those big double willows a 3.8/5:1 GR does wonders.
  2. Depends on how much the "weightless" soft plastic weights, you can cast a 5 inch "weightless" senko with a H rod anytime simply because the "weightless" senko is pretty darn heavy ....
  3. The only source is Shimano.
  4. I fish my weedless 68 with my old 5:1 XLT Plus Ambassadeur.
  5. WHUT THE HELL ? ........ Don't know from whom you heard it but that' s such nonsense !
  6. "Do spin casters have any advantage over a spinning reel/bait caster?" Yup, excellent tools for newbies to learn how to cast, that's the only advantage I can think about
  7. Cuz that's where the bugs are and where plankton blooms which maens that's where the food is and bass like food. Wanna know when I've caught most of the beeg mommas ? During the warmest months of the year during the hottest days at the hottest hours. ( in my neck of the woods 90 deg is just a warm day, nothing to brag about ).
  8. yup, there's AbuGarcia and ..... others, but who the hell cares for "others" ? and Megabass don't count since they are all tuned up Daiwas.
  9. d**n, I didn't know I had to purchase rods according to my height, being 1.70 mts what the hell I'm going to do with some of those 7 fters I got .....?
  10. My everyday lake has 10+ lbers, I know it because I have caught several throughout the 3+ decades I've fished it but between catching one and another it can take years, so to be honest, the regular, ordinary, everyday catch is about a pound in weight, which apparently is the most abundant weight since that's what you catch all day long.
  11. Not exactly on how the bait works, they add a stronger hydrodynamic signature.
  12. Swivels for saltwater fishing are super strong.
  13. Matzuo hooks are top notch when compared to their cranks....
  14. I religiously boiled and straightened every Trickworm I had ( and I have trickworms by the pound ) until one day I decided not to do it again, a few were badly bent/kinked but what the hell, wasn't going to straighten them up, guess what ? They still caught fish, some behaved like Mann's Augertail worm ( the tail straightened when pulled and bend when at rest ).
  15. I have caught thousands with Rapala Shad Rap, Bill Lewis Rat L-Trap, Storm Wiggle Wart, I do have many other brands but those three stand above all.
  16. FC is weather/sunlight proof.
  17. Nice one ! Excellent job !
  18. Doesn't really matter.
  19. 75 ..... dude where you at, the North Pole or what ?
  20. I have several old style GL2s, a friend of mine has several HMGs, I would pick the old GL2 over the HMG everytime, not that the HMG is a bad rod, I like the old GL2; now a Techna AV vs old GL2 is not a fair comparison.
  21. I like Latino women ..... hey, now that I come to think about it in more detail ......I'm married to one !
