  1. needing a stress relief I decided to fish for an hour..put my boat in and on the third cast I catch a 4lber on a frog..About 30 minutes later catch one on a tiki stick that went around 3lb..Two cast later I catch another one on tiki stick..Unfortunately this is were the nite went south..She was a six pounder and as soon as the bait hit the water she swallowed i set the hook and the battle was on..Once I got her in she had hooked herself in the gut and it was just torn a little with no blood..while i was deciding on what to do I put her back in to get some oxygen and she wiggled and swallowed the hook a little ways..I snapped the hook pulled it out and all of a sudden it was like the air was let out of her.. :'( . i tried to get her back going but she kept going belly up..I put her in the livewell and put some release me in with no avail..I know they are just fish but man I sure do hate killing a fish like this..Fortunately we do have some people that will eat bass this big in my hood and I gave it to them..It sure broke my heart...I have fished my lake for over 3 years and this is the first one I have killed and it really sux..Sorry for the ramble..just wondering if anyone feels this way after this..thanks
  2. I have used the pts for two years and love them to death...I have never used the revos so hard to compare..If you like what you already have why change..Just my two cents..
  3. not trying to hijack thread but the kvds I bought for 79 at bps are freaking awesome..
  4. It is a private lake, so I have no clue if state regulations factor in..Evn though I am catch and release only,I am not opposed to someone catching fish to eat, I am just opposed to someone who thinks catching as many as they can catch 2 and 3 times a week is ok..I think that anglers need to use common sense and not greed when it comes to fishing..when you continue to pull that out dont get upset when there are no more to catch..
  5. I got a question that really festers this time of the year...I live on a 200 acre lake that has crappie, bream, bass, and catfish..The lake is about 12 years old..i have fished this lake for about 3 years with some good success..However I have been told that 6 years ago the lake was great for catching good numbers and big bass a good bit..We have had our days when we have caught alot but nothing like what we have been told..The question I have is this..our lake this time of the year gets fished alot with people who take out 100 to 200 crappie, bass, and bream each time they go..Is it me or how many fish can you eat..are these people trying to feed an army but taking this many out ..Am I just being to over zealous in thinking that this lake could be fished out or is this helping the lake removing this many..Any thoughts would be appreciated..Is there anyway to regulate or should I just sit back and watch people again destroy a good resource..Any input good or bad would be appreciated.. :-/
  6. Hey Guys, Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the new kvd reels..I have two of the older models and they have been great for spinnerbaits and jig fishing, so I decided to buy two more..I have 6 pt quantum reels and love them..The new kvd for half the price worked just as good..The 6 3 to 1 ratio kvd was awesome today..I loved the way it would zing a mans minus one and the reel felt reel smooth..It is surely a keeper..The 7 to 1 I did not like as much for some reason it felt cheaper mad than the other..few parts were loose and it would not cast as smoothly as the other..I certainly am going to keep the 6 3 and give the 7 1 a few more chances before I unload on this..Right now at bass pro the kvds in Atlanta were priced at 79.99..with my reel trade ins I paid 64 plus tax..That is an awesome deal for these reels.. To everyone who gave me line tips. I have been a big fan of pline, but after today all I can say I am a big fan of the Yozuri Hybrid..I used the 12lb for my cranking applications and 15 for spinnerbaits and this line felt just awesome..Thanks for the advice on this line guys..
  7. I dont know what is bigger, the bass or adams head..lol..nice fish
  8. Me personally think that catching fish on live bait is much easier..The only reason I am doing this is because I do like catching and not fishing..lol..The cheating part I am refferring to is because Craigaria got me into this and i told him this was like cheating..I will at this time invite anyone to my lake and give you the ability to throw any artificial and I will fish with live bait and we will see who wins.. ;)...This is not anything personal just an opinion that is does take more talent and skill to catch fish on artificial to live bait..I have caught five fish over 10 in my life with 12.4 being my biggest..If i were to catch one on live bait that is bigger I would certainly have to put an asterisk by the catch..
  9. Thanks for all the comments..We are downlining with 4 foot leader and one oz lead wt to keep bait down..Some where also caught with corks..with about 4 foot down and splitshot about 1 foot up...
  10. Biggest went around 8.6..We have probably caught around 30 over 5 lbs in the last two weeks and probably 10 over 7..I am not big on the live bait but it is sure fun to sit back and watch your poles bend over to the water..
  11. Here are a few good ones I caught..Water temps 43 to 46 most caught between 5 to 12 feet deep on live shad..Decided to cheat on the artificial for a while..lol..
  12. Try using a crawfish looking bait with 1oz tungsten weight to penetrate the hydrilla..My biggest bass ever came from this lake and it is hopefully still swimming there..
  13. fourbizz I have been catching fish man..No time to be on the net..lol
  14. Hey guys, I have not been posting awhile on this site and have missed out..however after reading this post I am kind of in awe about the balls of some of us on who keeps and doesnt keeps bass..You can ask fluke I am strictly one hundred and 10 percent catch and release..However if this guy decided to keep both of these fish, It completely up to him and not up to us ask to become investigators on whether or not he caught this fish and if he really caught it..If he did not catch the fish when he said he did then he will have to deal with lost integrity and not the bassresource investigators..If I was someone new I would be afraid to post on this site because things would be under questioning if something did not go exactly the way the majority thought it should be..So guys lighten up..Just my two cents.. And guys lets all come clean..Its not like we have never had a little white lie get us in a pickle.. ;D You all have to understand to that people keep fish..
