  1. Congrats man. Today was a good day.
  2. Caught this a lil while ago...I had already put all my things in the truck and something told me to try a top water before i left so I changes lures and decided to go out for 5 mor mins.
  3. Imma fix me up some jugs to set out and see if that catches anything. And if not then imma fish the heck outta it to try to catch this monster. Hes gotta be hungry for something.
  4. It had a thick blue fin.
  5. LOL...The thick blue fin looked like a blue cat but I swear that thing had yellow stripes.
  6. Was out at the local watershed and saw this.
  7. Lots of sucker fish in this creek. My father had set out a trap in a pool to relocate a bunch of fish that have gotten trapped due to the water level dropping. I looked in the trap and it was mainly suckers and a few brim. I went on down the creek and used a buzz bait and a rooster tail. I caught a few red eye bass and a small large mouth. My nephew wanted to fish but hasnt figured out how to cast yet. He had a senko already on his rod so I was just casting it for him and letting him reel it in. Believe it or not he caught one. Hes 2 small to really set the hook so when he got it to the bank it got off but he had a blast.
  8. I am going to my fathers for the 4th for my sisters b-day. Terrapin Creek runs through his yard. The water is always cold in this creek and he says there is good fishing there. What would you recommend using there with the water being so cool and it being so hot? Not a lot of moss or anything there...just a limb down and a plant in the water every now and then. Water is moving but has regular pools where it slows considerably. Thanks everyone.
  9. Ive tried looking on the internet to find out which rod this is but cant find anything. I think I will take it off and put it on one of my rods b/c it is extremely light action. Thanks for the input guys...I just wanted to make sure I wasnt crazy for wanting to use it.
  10. My father came up here and brought me an old 1977 Ambassadeur 5000 D on an old telescopic rod. Im not sure what make the rod is. It is the exact same green as the reel. I cleaned everything up and the thing looks and works great. My friends called me an idiot b/c I am planning on using the thing. When my father handed it to me he said "I thought you might be able to use this". What would you do? Would you use it like he indended or would you hang it up as a dust collector?
  11. Those are the ones I clean and put in the freezer...I release most of the fish I catch but when I get one that swallows a hook I go ahead and clean it and put it up b/c odds are after you cause the damage when you pull the hook out after a swallow its not gonna make it anyway.
  12. Went out early yesterday morning. Fished until 12 and then swam a while. Fish wasnt biting that well. Went back out yesterday afternoon and did it all over again. Only caught one fish all day but it beats sitting at the house any day. Everyone goes to the bigger lake up the road so i got the water all to myself there most of the time.
  13. Close to you in Bama I have had my best luck in the morning and right before dark. I normally start out in the mornin g with a topwater, then switch to a soft plastic until I get hot and ready to leave. And then just the opposite in the afternoon. I normally try to get out there at about 5:30 or 6PM. Start out with a soft plastic and when I get tired of using that I will switch back to topwater. I have done pretty well doing this but just get out there and experiment...What works best for me might not work as well for you and vise versa.
