  1. In my book, this 100% spot on! With either spinning or BC gear landing a fish should be a pump and reel in the slack action, not winching.
  2. I used to feel the same way about micro guides until I got the Bu Coo's.... I defiantly notice a difference in accuracy and distance, and a leader is no issue as I had thought.
  3. Indexed tension knobs and drags serve no purpose anyhow.....
  4. The Duckett website recommends the 6'9"MH for Spinner baits up to 5/8 oz, but if that rod is not working for you then you may want to go up to the 7'6"MH cause that one is recommended for 3/4 oz spinner baits. It is personal preference sometimes, and you may want to give them a call before dishing out the money.
  5. Medium fast is a good all-around rod that will do just about everything well. A medium with a moderate/fast tip is a great rod for lipless cranks, squarebills and smaller spinner baits. I have a 7'M Moderate action Bu Coo that has no problem driving the hook home with a texas rigged work either.
  6. Much more tactful than I would have said. I think it's pretty sad that most of you rather catch nothing. I've been doing it for 40+ years and I still enjoy catching any size fish. If I was fishing for money and food it would be a different story, but for fun no.
  7. Rigged both was work great.... When the bite is slow I go Wacky LOL. Caught this one on a T-Rigged 5" BPS Stick-O Black/Blue Flake which are my favorite. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  8. I'd stay with the MH, and the 7'3" should work very well...
  9. This is what you have to look forward too.. They grow so fast, so spend all the time you can with them. Just yesterday my little guy was fishing with a bobber, and now he's pulling these in on lures...... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  10. Arkie Jerk Bait Heads 1/32oz Never lost a fluke fish with these. They have just enough weight to keep them just below the surface, they work great.
  11. Congratulations!!!!!! You will look back at those pictures one day, and the memories will come alive (trust me).
  12. Check out my 2 Berkley Lightning Shock rods. Either works great with Flukes. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/108295-rods-and-reel-updated-with-pictures/
  13. Spool up with braid and be done.....
  14. I'd use them to catch fish.....
  15. Take a look at the Falcon Bucoo (Micro) as well... It is extremely light 3-4oz, very sensitive, and casts like a dream. The grip is so much more comfortable than the veritas, and it has a real reel seat, unlike the Veritas.
  16. The ones I've seen at BPS look like junk, and for what they sell for you can buy a proven reel.
  17. I just made one for my son's rod, and it works great.... No more Fuji E-Z Keepers.
  18. Live eels are a great way to fish the canal... Use a sinker slider with a 5oz sinker on an incoming tide. Fishing the Cape side of the canal is best, and the water flow will be left to right. Cast out far left, and allow the sinker and eel to bounce along the bottom to the right. The current is very strong and will bounce the sinker at a perfect pace. When the bait bounces in front of you let it continue till it almost starts to pull on the rod, then start reeling really fast or you will get hung up on the rocks. Use a 18" mono leader Big Game 30# Green with 50# main line with a swivel. Slip the sinker slide onto the main line and tie the main line to the other side of the swivel. Use a Palomar knot for all connections. Hook the eel through the lips from bottom to top. Keep the eels on ice in a cooler and they will be easy to handle, but will wake instantly when they hit the water. Don't let them just sit idle in the water like when chunking or they will wrap around your line and make a mess. If you want a tip on a great spot let me know, and I'll hook you up (no pun intended) LOL.....
  19. These are what work in the Canal..... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  20. Yep. The Fuji EZ Keeper works great,I put them on my rods that do not come with hook keepers. http://www.basspro.com/Fuji-EZ-Keeper/product/58449/
  21. Toilet water....... I never have any luck with those worms. All the little fish just want to play with the tail.
  22. I'd go crazy knowing I had a new reel and could not try it out for 3 weeks...
  23. I assume these are what your looking for.... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=shannon+twin+spinner
