  1. I have the Sellus Worm/Jig rod, and it's a very good rod for the money. Another good rod for the $$ is the Tech-Spec rods found at Dick's sporting Goods. You can get them for around $49.00
  2. Yeah, Reel Magic, if I remember correctly smells like lighter fluid.
  3. It's a great idea but...... Rods are like shoes, not all fit each individual the same. Also, they change models, and options within models so fast you could never keep up.
  4. Awesome!!!
  5. Here I am about 3 years ago with my PB. Caught it at dusk out of my canoe on a Wave Worm (Tiki Stick) in silver shad. I wish we had a better camera that day but it was a 35mm disposable. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  6. Children must play. When you Boy's become men and have a home and family, you will learn to appreciate the smaller things in life (like a fishing reel). It's amazing how the children on most of the online forums enjoy ruining posts and well, acting their age.
  7. What about Reel Magic? I use to use it years ago on my spinning gear with Mono and it worked. I haven't used it in years though, so things may have changed. How does the KVD compare to Reel Magic?
  8. This...... Remove the spool bearings, and soak them in Mineral Spirits, or Acetone, I prefer Mineral Spirits. I use a small glass jar with enough Mineral Spirits to cover the bearings. Let them soak for about ten minutes and then give the jar a few shakes, and let it sit for another 10 minutes or so. Now remove the bearings from the jar and place them on a paper towel to dry, this will take 1/2 hour or less. Place the bearings on the tip of a pencil, and spin them. They should spin free for a few seconds. Now put one drop, and I can't emphasize ONE drop enough, and let it soak in. The bearings should spin free, and silent. Place the back in the reel and go fishing. Your reel will cast and feel much smoother after this simple procedure. It's a good idea to learn to do this on your own, as reel maintenance is something you should perform regularly. Hope this helps. NOTE: SPIN THE BEARINGS ON THE TIP OF A PENCIL BEFORE THE ABOVE PROCEDURE. THIS WILL GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA AS TO THE HUGE DIFFERENCE YOU JUST MADE IN PERFORMANCE.
  9. Excellent....... I love to celebrate.
  10. Send me your Shimano, and I'll hook you up with with several of your prefered combos.......
  11. Yes Sir...... Although, I do prefer Mono for cranks, and a FC leader on my braid for plastics.
  12. If you are going to be throwing plastics and tubes, you will want a leader if your using braid, so you know the answer.
  13. Braid is easier to throw than Mono or FC.... You might want to practice with some cheap Mono before spooling up with braid. I like 30-50 Power Pro.
  14. Same here, Texas Weightless...
  15. What on earth Gods green earth is this, and what are they doing?
  16. I have not personally used micro guides, but know people who have. Some micro guides are larger than others, and will allow a leader but most will not.
  17. Those rods get great reviews here.... Just be aware that with micro guides, you will not be able to tie a leader onto the braid as the knot will not flow through the guides.
  18. Operator error for sure........ How long have you been using BC equipment?
  19. Well, if you read my other post you would know that I picked up a Citica 201E last night at what I thought was a decent buy, but not sure. I have read a lot about these reels, and have found that the Citica and Curado have a cult like following, and not sure why? I pulled the spool bearings on it last night, and soaked them in Mineral Spirits to clean the grease out. I have found Mineral Spirits to work extremely well for this type of procedure. I then let the bearings dry on a paper towel over night. I woke up due to the excitement of my new reel, and could not wait to get to finishing the job at hand. I spun the bearings on the tip of a pencil, and they spun fast and free. I put a drop of Reel Butter bearing lube on each bearing and let it soak in. I then wiped the excess oil off and installed the bearings back in the reel. I spun the spool and it was much smoother and faster than before. I spooled it up with 30# Power Pro and tied on a mouse and headed for the pond, a two minute walk from my front door. I arrive at the pond, and my expectations are not very high, as I have always been a Abu fan. I set 3 brakes to the on position, and adjust the spool tension. I now proceed to unleash my first cast with my new Citica 201E....... I bring the rod back, and let it load, and swoosh..... this reel is a rocket launcher!!!!!! It is by far the smoothest and best casting reel I have ever held in my hands. I could not be any more happy, and feel this is by far the best $49.00 I've ever spent on any fishing gear. I now understand what all the hype is with these reels. I bought a Pro Qualifier about a month ago, and it does not even come close to the Citica. Now having said this, I can't imagine how a Curado, could be any better, but I now want to find out.
  20. OK, the big question...... Should I flush the bearings and put a drop of Reel Butter on them or use it as is for now? For what I have into the reel, I was thinking of buying a pair of spool bearings and swapping them out, thoughts?
  21. Yeah, two days ago I paid $49.00 for a AG Black Max.......
  22. Looks fishy LOL...... Funny, I was looking for a Curado 201E and found this Citica tonight by accident.
