  1. Veritas or carbonlite
  2. Depends what u type of fishing u are doing. Generally if u are fishing a bank it means there is some type of structure there. It also means u don't want to be plopping in a bait from a mile away and spooking everything. So u generally get close enough where u can make a quiet accurate entry but far away as u can get..if that makes sense
  3. 15lb flouro I'm mostly fishing around rock and timber, no vegation to speak of.....
  4. I've had good luck with terminator and strike king. The war eagle ones look really good and are popular but I have yet to try them.
  5. Did a quick google search, revos are Korean, round reels are Sweden and pretty much everything else is china
  6. Hmm I was taking with a guy who works at cabelas and he said they where made in Sweden ad Korea? Was he wrong
  7. Every time I think about petrino not keeping little petrino in his pants it makes me sick. What really makes me sick is how it left the kids...not fair to them. It wouldn't have mattered Saturday, wouldn't have got blanked but we couldn't have beat them. They are in another class right now. The thing is they would have had some leadership not the clown on the sideline that's there now. Just sucks......
  8. we (arkansas) suck again.......
  9. Can honestly say that I have never heard of anyone using a jig with swivel. Cant even think of why u would want to use one.
  10. Original bags and those are in binders separated by type
  11. They are g series
  12. I got a hundred dollar gift card to a small online retailer. They sell only shimano reels. I need a new crankbait reel so I think I'm going to pick one up. My question is what are the main differences in the citica and curado. I'm a little strapped for cash but if the curado is way better I will wait awhile and get it,but if the citica is a viable reel I will go ahead and get it. This won't be for super deep divers just a general all around cranking reel.
  13. Hmmm going to give it a try. still don't know why it would work but I never claimed to be the smartest guy LOL.
  14. My advice is to take it slow. When learning a new technique a lot of times I will take one pole and only that lure. That forces me to pay attention to what Im doing and learn the subtle details of the bait I'm fishing. Choose one and after u feel comfortable with that one move on to another. Also choose conditions that will magnify the bait to get more bites, that will gain confidence for u. For example use a jerkbait in the spring, topwater in the sunrise/sunset,etc......
  15. Are u saying u put three foot of braid then the rest with flouro? Or braid with a flouro leader? If the first I have never heard of that, why would it solve the problem?
  16. I could be wrong but it seems like a read that sunline is made in the toray plant. Would make since why u like both of them. It's going to be the next line I try. I'm not ready to give up on it yet.
  17. ???? Seaguar is made in Japan and abrazx is roughly 26 or 27 bucks a box depending I where u get it. It's not an entry level flouro. Anyways after some research looks like it is defiantly just the nature of the beast. The backlash is defiantly the problem. I'm still experimenting with different brands. Going to try sme sunline next I believe.
  18. Thats the way I am. Can't fish a spinning reel right handed, it has to be left. But if it's bait casting i can get by with a left but prefer right handed. Weird I know
  19. Yeah I was Watching that, I don't rember that guys name. He was pretty confident after the first day and then just fell apart. I read quill backs report. Looks like I really need to hone in my drop shot. I tend to be a power guy and rarely even bring a spinning rod. I did happen to pick up a pfleuger president xt for $30 bucks at cabelas opening day. Looks like it might get some action pretty quick!
  20. Line was soaked kvd several times and yes it helps with managing it. To the guys saying its an error by me I agree but I'm not a newbie to baitcasters either. Been using them for twenty years. Not the rod either as this was two different rods( I didn't make that clear). I chalked the first time up to me pulling backlash out to rough. The second time I literally had two backlashes in 6 trip on that line. I babied it and got it out gently. Just sucks cause that stuff is twenty five bucks a box. I really want flouro to work as its great with trigs and jigs. If that is my only, option to baby it more, I guess I will just deal with it.
  21. Ok, I recently decided I would try flouro. Went on the cheap first and bought some red label. The sensitevty was awesome but I found the memory and abrasion restiance a little lacking. Then one trip I got one of those professional overruns......picked it out and when I reeld up I was stuck. I just reeled down to it and pop...half my freaking spool was gone. So I decided since the sensitevty was so great I would try some abrazx. Everything red label was and more except a little more stretchy. Then tonight after six or so trips on the line I did the same thing as before. Backlash..hung up...pop....half my spool gone. It's getting old. I know of the problems with getting a knick in your line and flouro breaking. This last one I was extra careful to not pull hard to kink the line and it still done it. So my question is....is there a fix for this? Is there a better line that doesn't do this AS bad. I just happened to pick a up box of invisix for ten bucks earlier today so I guess that will be going on next...
