Dennis, Going off the chart from the TM manual, your circuit breaker was too small. Shouldn't have melted, however - just should have blown. The wire is technically too small for your TM and will heat up at max draw and could cause an issue. Being a bigger guy will make the motor go to max draw pretty quickly. May not hurt to run 6 AWG and a 50 Amp breaker?

Some sick setups on here - gave me a bunch of ideas to rig mine out. I got a coleman bass classic off CL that I'm up fitting. I put down 1/2" PT ply glued and wrapped in Lowes outdoor carpet. Looking at doing a casting deck with pedestal seat; how are you guys anchoring the decking to the boat, or are you? My thought is if you lean back on pedestal seat the ply will just loft up and flip backward. I plan on doubling up 1/2 ply to make 1" thick, mount the pedestal mount to that and then place that on top of where the stock seat rails would lay in. Any thoughts on doing it differently or an effective non destructive way of securing the deck to the boat?

Good luck! I was in same 'boat' - friend gave me old Bantam 3X for free but had nothing with it. I bought my frames from basspro for $40 / ea then the wise folding seats from Amazon for $30 or so each and added detachable swivels for $20 each. The seats are going to cost me more than anything the way it's going. Bass pro doesn't seem to offer the frames anymore - maybe because they were cheaply made with the worst welding job I've ever seen. I think it's worth trying the bass hunter site - had I seen that when I was looking I would have gone with them, much cheaper. I'm upfitting my Bantam 3X now - been going through this thread for a long time. Just got rid of an old Coleman Bass Raider style boat. As someone said, a lot of pictures have lost their hosting - anyone care to post/repost their boats and mods to consolidate?
