Yes we will!!!! I've really missed that over the last ten years or so. Used to do a ton of quail hunting with my dad during my high school years around the eastern flint hills, but since the birds declined we haven't gone in a while.
We're staying in Dodge but will be hunting some private ground west of there near Cimarron.
You've got my attention!!!!!!! We'll be going to Dodge City for the opener, last year they shot around 80 birds opening day and the birds are supposed to improved. I've heard reports from buddies harvesting in North Central KS that the quail are thick this year.
Slow for us on Sunday too. I caught a decent amount of fish but my dad struggled to get bit. He did catch 1 smallie, 1 white, and 1 decent sized drum. He had fun though, which is all that mattered.
Same thing with my stoeger pump, it sees action for ducks and geese and every now and then a turkey hunt. For upland I stick with a 12 and 20 guage Ruger Red Label.
Not to start a "KC Area Flea Market", but I'm in the same boat as Clayton. I have a brand new crucial drop shot rod in the main flea market and I'm also selling a 7' MH/F Basspro Carbonlite. Like to sell them to someone locally to avoid shipping and keep the price down for one of you guys that could use a nice rod. If interested PM me or text me if you have my number.
The new mojo just came out in September. Give it some time and Cabelas will get some in stock. BPS and TW have them right now so Cabelas shouldn't be far behind.
Got them last night. They feel VERY nice. Balanced and lightweight, compared it to my Rage and it feels lighter. Although the rage in the same size and power was 5.1 and St Croix's site says the new Mojo is 4.2, so it would make sense that if feels lighter.
If you're looking around the $100 price range I would seriously consider the new mojo in 6'10" ML/XF, the Legend Tournament in the same specs is AWESOME for the ned rig and I'm sure the mojo would be more than suitable. I personally use a 7'1" ML/F Shimano Crucial for the Ned and I love it.
