  1. I like that they made an upgrade to the hood. To me it was very uncomfortable and was the only reason I didn't get another one when my 7'3" snapped in half. May have to try another one.
  2. Not sure La Carreta would be quite big enough of a place. Johnny's sounds good!!
  3. '06 F150 XLT Crew Cab 5.4L V8
  4. We have 3 stores in our area on the KS side and the only crucial I found was a 7'2" MH spinning rod. They don't carry the rage. I wanted a 7'1" ML Crucial and the only store that has them was Basspro's website. I had to pay full price online but luckily they told me they would give me a refund of $30 when it arrives due to Cabelas having them on clearance for $129. Was really surprised that they would price match.
  5. THIS ^^^^^ Our basspro gave me a hard time a while back when I had the reel seat come loose on a compre. I had my receipt in hand. The CS people kept trying to tell me that they could not return shimano rods because it was past 90 days (rod was 6 months old) and that I had to send it in to the company. I asked them to call one of the guys over from the fishing counter and even he tried to tell me the same thing. Not until they got a manager up there did he explain to them how Shimano's warranty works.
  6. I'd like to see an upgrade in the compre, especially in the reel seat, and maybe a little more variety in length and action. Be nice if they offered some kind of shaky head rod in the compre like they do with the crucial. I'm a fan of the blank and the comfort of the reel seat, but I had two of them that had the reel seat come loose when the reel was tightened down.
  7. Depending on where you guys pick I can do one day, but would have to bail on the second day.
  8. 3.96 on a football jig. Stopped at the ramp for lunch and made a cast down the submerged rock wall that continues after the walkway stops. One of the hardest thumps I've ever felt on a jig, thought it was a drum at first.
  9. Never caught one but would love to. Here's a picture of the missouri state record (I think) some guy caught during a tournament about ten years ago.
  10. Just got back from our week long vacation at The Rock. Had a great time, caught a lot of fish. FIshing was tough but we caught enough to make it fun. Most fish came in 15-25 FOW on either finesse jigs or the Ned. The best part of the week was getting my 22 month old son into the water and on the boat. He had a blast swimming, and he even started to figure out how to dog paddle which was very exciting. Our resort First night, both fish on a 3/8 oz football shakyhead and big texan color pit boss Drop shot around the KC bridge Healthy spot on the Ned in the cut next to our dock Chunky 14" smallie on the Ned out of one of the boat slips on the dock during a storm. There were 5 or 6 other fish (mix of smallies and spots) that came up with it, my dad flipped the Ned in front of them and had a nice spot on for a couple seconds but lost it. Pretty cool to watch happen in the clear water. Another one during the storm on a football shaky and mag finesse worm My dad with the biggest of the week, probably around 3 1/2 pounds and a very healthy fish. Caught on a football jig off the front of the dock. The fish had apparently swallowed a wobble head and had almost passed it, the head was sticking out it's butt but the hook was stuck inside. You can barely see it in the picture, will probably end up killing the fish. Another off the front of the dock on a finesse jig, around 3 lbs. Got this one Friday morning on a finesse jig in 20' around some standing timber. Same morning on the Ned, fish was a little goofy looking One of my last fish, a stocky LM off the bridge to the dock on the Ned My boy was a fan of it
  11. Let's not forget Jeff Kent and his motorcycle. I thought the punishment for Machado should have been more severe. No excuse for that kind of behavior. Throwing a temper tantrum, and then doing what could be perceived as him deliberately trying to hurt another player.
  12. I think they get back later today
  13. Have fun!! My buddy is at Lake of the Woods right now and from what I've heard they're doing pretty well on EVERYTHING. He posted a picture on Sunday of a 14.5" crappie he caught off the dock at the resort. Also posted one of about a 30" pike a guy caught that had about a 12" crappie in its stomach. They've caught some pretty impressive smallies as well, biggest picture they're posted is a 19" brownie.
  14. I've already said too much.....
  15. The bionic blade micro is a decent rod right around that price range.
  16. Oh come on, I know there's a few times I've enjoyed it. But I'll admit that those times I had bad intentions for the individual that was being searched......... singing soprano afterwards if you know what I mean
  17. Nice fish! Which river? We're going to the niangua in a couple weeks.
  18. My problem and my dad's is that we dont have a clue about outboards and would be afraid of screwing something up. We'll call them in the morning and ask about the remanufactured powerheads. Thanks!!!!
  19. The price for a new 150 (which is what the boat initially came with) was around 12K.
  20. Our '93 Intruder 175 started making a knocking noise while idling a few weeks ago. We took it to a local evinrude dealer/service center and just found out today that the powerhead needs to be replaced. They said that they will pretty much have to replace almost everything and it will essentially be a new motor. They quoted us around $7500. Can anyone that has some knowledge on this stuff let me know if this sounds reasonable? We're having a hard time agreeing to a repair that is going to cost us more than the boat is worth. Thanks.
  21. Water temp? What was working for you?
  22. While I am a huge fan of the pro qualifier/carbonlite casting combo..... My favorite BPS rod has got to be the older full cork handle bionic blade spinning rod. I've got a 7' M/F and a 6'6" ML/F. The 7' has a sahara on it and is my most versatile spinning rod. I'll use it for drop shot, shakyheads, swimshads, tubes, and so on. The 6'6" has a sedona on it and is mainly for crappie and trout.
  23. THIS ^^^^^ I found the same motor with variable speed for the same price on craigslist in KC.
  24. I can handle that. I think my partner might have a tough time with that though......
