  1. All very good information that Sam provided for you that basically sums everything you need to know up
  2. I might have to invest in some mega strike after reading this post. I have never really fell into "hype products" because I feel they are just that. For instance I've been watching the bassmasters and major league fishing as well as other fishing shows and they all SWORE by fish sticks saying how you are guaranteed to catch more fish... FALSE. Literally every time I apply it it makes no difference I don't get any bites lol. No missed strikes or anything. Seems like without it, cuz I haven't been using it due to lack of success, I do just fine. This year my timing with setting the hook seems to be flawless. I have caught over 200 fish so far with not too many missed hook sets. If this mega strike stuff really makes a difference I will probably pick up some to test it out. Hopefully for me it performs better than the fish sticks hype product!
  3. Best advise I can give on catching the big one is to have your line in the water
  4. Sounds like a good day nice pics man
  5. Nice fish do you have 5? What's your total length?
  6. I would say it's between 5 and 6. The one in my avatar is 6lbs 10oz
  7. Man I never seem to have ANY luck with crank baits. Few times I used em nothing but dinks. I am more of a soft plastics and jig fishermen
  8. Tackle warehouse.com their 2 day shipping price is very reasonable But I would second what MCS said Gander Mountain and Dicks. You might not have Gander by you but most likely you have Dicks. (Dicks Sporting Goods is my spot! I got 2 free abu Garcia reels and I bought a St. Croix rod and I broke the tip pulling in a 3 pounder, was my fault. Took of back to dicks was trying to think of a lie to tell em and they just told me to go pick out another one... Now that's excellent customer service!)
  9. Nice fat fish congrats
  10. I do the same thing putting it bak in the package to me makes no difference. Taking the worm off te hook messes up the bait so I just keep em in. I've taken out fresh worms out the pack and made numerous casts with no success go in my box tie on a used plastic, hook still in it, and catch something.
  11. I live in Jacksonville and the fishing has been on fire! I've been going out every morning around 5:30 and I have notice between 7:00 and 8:30 I have caught my biggest and highest volume of fish. I also go out from 7:00pm til dark and it is usually consistent. I would try going out at different times. My weekend times are 5:30 to 9 then around 1 to 4 then I go back out around 6 or 7
  12. Nice pics man congrats
  13. Yea sorry about the picture delay. I have an iphone and whenever I try to load my pics from it it says that it is too large. So i have to go to a computer hook my phone up and transfer pics to a website to shrink em then copy em to a post... its annoying What is your total Lou? I think fstr posted a few fish too not sure his total length though
  14. Nice fish It does seem like I am the only one but I think someone else has 5 totaled too. I have been doing a lot of fishing this month found a couple golden spots where i see massive fish swimming around only got my hook in a few of them including two 5 pounders 1 almost pushing 6lbs. 19" 21" 21" 22" 21" Total length so far 104
  15. It seems like all golf courses have big fish in em. Golf balls must be a part of their diet
  16. I went to the canal but could not seem to get them to bite on anything not even too water. And they were still jumping out the water left and right, I have no idea what to use nothing has been working
  17. St Croix Mojo Bass rod is my favorite! I picked up one yesterday and absolutely love it. So far I have pulled in 20 plus fish in the last 24/hrs including a few over 3 and a nice 5lb 12oz
  18. Senkos work no matter what the conditions! I also throw swim jigs with some type of trailer whether it be a craw or a rodent
  19. Nice fish man what did u catch it on?
  20. Nice fish man congrats on the new PB I went out today here in Jacksonville, FL using a 6" t rigged senko in black and blue flake weightless and caught a 5lb 12oz in about the same conditions was about 7 feet from shore in about 3 to 4 feet of water.
  21. I have done it on an umbrella rig but never a rapala
  22. That's great!! I need to make a friend who works there that also enjoys fishing. There are numerous lakes throughout the course that you can only get to if u r on the green and a gold cart is the perfect thing
  23. I use size 3 or 4 with a 6" senko I have been exclusively catching em on senkos for the past couple weeks
  24. I took some people's advice and asked for permission to fish this one course and they said no problem and I can not thank them enough!! I pull up to fish lake stayed for about hour and pulled in 6 biggest being 2.3. Then I get to the other lake and I see something I have never seen before. There were 7 fish biggest being at least 8lbs and 3 more were that size the others were no less than 4lbs. They were about 5 feet from shore I cast my 6" senko next to the group and boom I pull in a 5.12lb bass. I stayed for another hour at that spot and pulled in a bunch of small ones and 3 others that were over 3lbs
  25. 1000% agreed I feel like I wasted my time when I catch these little gold fish type bass! Especially when u r using plastics and they tear em apart.
