  1. Yea man I can't wait to hook into one of them when's the best time of year to catch them? Or do they generally follow the same pattern as largemouth as far as spawn and such?
  2. A lot of good information people have posted the only thing is you guys are using the wrong type of frogs. I've used most of these and they are no long in my tackle box because these new ones took over... I love em so do big fish
  3. Nice fish! You need to post some pics of these musky you catch, I always wanted to fish for them I don't think we have them here in FL. When I was in NJ I would catch pickerel and pike nice big ones but never a musky. My buddy in NJ caught a few.
  4. I've thrown it on 30 and 50lb braid. I watched a video on YouTube where this guy catches over 25lbs in 2 CASTS!!! He lands a big one and a 5 LB at once then he lands an even bigger one and another over 5. Biggest was 9.12
  5. Jig fishing can be really addicting! I use to jig often but now I have been exclusively using frogs for the past 3 weeks This one pond at this golf course I fish is the perfect spot for froggin and jiggin! I haven't thrown a jig there just frogs over the slop but I am going to try punching jigs through the thick stuff and pull out a BIGGEN
  6. 15lb peacock that's massive! Lou hopefully you hook into it if u find that spot how big would you say the one you caught was and is that your peacock PB? That's the main reason why I want to go fishing down south so I can form after some peacock bass the colors on those fish are beautiful sucks we don't have them here in Jacksonville
  7. Lol yea these fish have cost me too much money this month!! Only positive is I got a brand new reel for my old one
  8. Practice is the key, as far as open water strikes they happen more often when the frog is still, for me.
  9. Stanley hollow body frog black with red flake
  10. That's a nice fat fish
  11. My brother lives in East Orlando does anyone know of any good spots to fish around there? I am going there this weekend so I wanted to do some fishing
  12. Have you ever use the double frog hooks on them? That's what I use for the hollow body soft plastic frogs that float. But I'm excited to check them out if i win. How big are the bigger ones?
  13. Lol yea I actually just picked up a pack of horny toads. I'm sure I will like them because that's how I like to fish the hollow body ones I use only difference is hollow floats when you stop it.
  14. Are they hollow body? If so if I lock n this win I'm gonna love them. Never fish anything but hollow body but would try them out
  15. I hate losing the big ones after they are hooked!! I'd rather not get a single bite all day than to have that happen
  16. Lol I hope to be gettig these in the mail unless someone pulls in some whale sized bass I am on a frog binge I usually stick to my favorite brand of hollow bodies neve really have luk with the spro or booyah frogs
  17. I sometimes test the top water bite by throwing on a t rigged craw weightless across the top of the water like you would a frog. If that doesn't work I pitch it off the bottom try different techniques to see what they are keying in on. If its none of the above I will throw on a crank to see if they are in the chasing mood Just have to figure out what works that particular day
  18. 10 secs or longer... The other morning I caught a 6lber while I was untangling a wind knot. My total retrieve time from when I casted to when I landed the fish was probably around 10 minutes, because I was trying to get the knot out. But the fish watched the bait the whole time and struck it when it was a couple feet in front of me. Frog was sitting still for 3 mins, I got the knot out reeled a foot and BOOM
  19. Yea they do slurp em My girlfriend wanted me to go out for oysters with her and her girlfriend I was like first when did you start eating oysters and two do I look like the type of person who would eat oysters lol Friend chicken yes oysters hell no lmao
  20. Yeah I only fished a few spots out that way. I fished this one pond that is on the road the Waffle House is on. There are two ponds one in the front by the road and one all the way in the back that you can not get too. It has an abandoned dock probably was someone's personal honey hole but it's impossible to get to. I never caught anything out there first time I took Czar there he pulled out 2 or 3 small ones. Then I fished the golf course ponds with tremendous success. And the publix complex on 210 there a community back there that I fished the one pond by the clubhouse. I caught a few biggest being 3. But I have seen some nice sized fish swimming around in there in the range of 7lbsWhere are these other ponds that you know, you can PM me if you want
  21. And that one pond I told you about with the gate in a PM on old saiNT Augustine road is next to this little ghetto gas station. But the gate has been locked ever since that one day I fished there and missed all of those big fish. Whenever I am by there I always check to see if the gate is locked or not. Figures I find a nice spot that's close and that's ideal for how I like to fish and I can't regularly access it.
  22. 210 that's the exit right after yours
  23. Nice fish hopefully you catch the 10lber so we can see some pics
  24. Yea I like that Florida Bragging Club (round 4) It would be cool if more people participated. I bet they secretly have the intention too but just haven't caught anything worth posting. I guarantee by spawn this competition will look like a mini bassmasters tournament ha. Like you said Lou August is going to be rough!!! It was already too hot in July, and August is going to be hotter and the fishing tougher. But as usual it will make for a fun competition
  25. Another thing about the strikes is I notice that the big ones inhale the frog on the pause, a lot of times it is real suttle, rather than an aggressive attack like when the frog is moving. This morning I was fishing my frog right at sunrise I pause it for a second and it looked like my frog feel into a hole in the water lol I tugged and it was a 18" fish
