Didn't mean to start a war here, but just as an update I took it back to the store tonight and exchanged it for the same model. We'll see how it holds up. The issue may not have affected how it fished, I was just afraid of something going terribly wrong while im trying to reel in a big fish

Is the end threaded? Its not coming unscrewed, just popping out Edit: checked the diagram, neither end is threaded. Its either in or out, not tight/loose

Hello all, I purchased a Lew's Speed Spool a few weeks ago and am having problems with what I believe is the worm shaft (its the small metal bar running across the frame above and slightly to the front of the spool). Every now and then I'll notice that it has come loose and can slide back and forth slightly. I just pop it right back into place, not a huge problem. This isn't supposed to happen is it? Is it something I can fix or do I need to return it? Thanks
