  1. Or the fact that his electronics aren't worth much here...?
  2. I like to see Sprague make a run above the cut line.
  3. Yep, I'm watching. The tough bite is why MLF can still be fun to watch even on tough days. The ones that can figure out how to get more than 5 in the boat are rewarded.
  4. I prefer MLF. I like the rules package better. Makes for a more interesting tournament start to finish. You can only make up so much ground in a 5 fish format, so a lot of times the suspense is gone before a tournament ends. As a viewer, the MLF TV shows and live streaming are better, but BASS is catching up.
  5. Watching Michael Neil talk about the fish he is seeing on his screen is crazy. He's playing a video game. I think its boring to watch the guys fish a smallmouth tournament where all they do is cruise around staring at their screen and then drop the bait when they see one, and I don't like having to watch them fish the banks, flats and docks for largemouth the same way. I'm officially in the camp that they should limit the types of electronics these guys have on their boats.
  6. That's why MLF makes for great theater.
  7. I have about 10 guys I root for, obviously some more than others, but I always have a guy or two to root for each round. Today was Andy Montgomery and KVD... 0 for 2 today.
  8. Winning weight of 79-7 and I had 79-15 for my tie breaker. Not too bad...
  9. Feider obviously figured something out after that first day.
  10. Steven Browning is always the most cocky guy at the beginning of his shows, but rarely backs it up. It always makes me laugh when he doesn’t make the cut. Glad Adrian Avena made it through. He is one I always root for, but he never makes it easy. Always a grind with him.
  11. So, the three hours on Fox Sports 2 is just a repeat of the three hours they just aired on Fox Sports 1...
  12. I only had two make the cut to fish Saturday, but they are both in the top 5...
  13. 4 in the top 32, and then a big 75th to round it out. My guy from group 5 is sitting top ten, and my group 2 guy is in 75th...
  14. He’s on my team ??
  15. Looks like its going to be 8-11 on FS1 and 11-2 on FS2.
  16. This is what I wanted. A random thread to add to the discussion whenever something comes to mind about an MLF show. And that's why I'm watching. I have never fished in a BASS or MLF tournament to have opinions about the inner workings of them. I judge them based solely on the product of a spectator sport on TV. And I assume that is why they will tell you what round they are in on the screen but rarely actually put the time left as they are switching around from boat to boat because while I do trust that they show things like fish catches in the order that they happen, I agree with you that they don't often happen as rapid fire as they make it look.
  17. Another reason I like the MLF model, especially during the spawn.
  18. Just had the repeat of last weeks show on TV While I did some work around the house. Non-championship round, but still pretty exciting watching these guys trying to make the cut. Especially at the end when there are 3 guys a fish away from taking the last sudden death spot. As far as a Spectator sport experience on TV, I don’t think B.A.S.S. compares to MLF, and this episode is a perfect example of that.
  19. I wondered the same thing.
  20. I know they did this a couple times last year, but now they are doing every tournament. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/fox-sports-sets-2021-elite-series-tv-schedule?fbclid=IwAR16DmtzOHQ5PytYRcahOpd_HO-257NfbIJVYXpsvdfSNOnwwi_LwH4X7L0
  21. Who you got, and I don't count...? And I'm not ripping on Edwin, the reason we see him losing the fish is because he is good enough to make the TV shows so many times.
  22. Does anybody lose more fish than Edwin Evers??
  23. Where did you guys see an angler list for that tour?
  24. He was doing very well in MLF. I was surprised he chose to leave, but then was even more surprised that he is not on the BASS roster, meaning he left without securing another top series to fish in??
  25. For me, the draw of MLF over BASS isn’t about the anglers as much as it’s about the “every fish counts” way of doing things. I like it better than the big 5 method. Of course it helps to have known anglers to root for, but with their TV coverage it is easy to get to know the ones on their roster and find guys to cheer on. MLF is a more entertaining spectator sport because there can be excitement at both the top of the scoreboard and at the cut line, or even at the lines to qualify for Cups during BPT events, or even at the top 3 to qualify for the World Championship during Cup events...
