  1. Anyone from Missouri a Master Angler? I just looked it up and I'm thinking about going for it. Jon
  2. Just learning to airbrush. Where do I get some blanks to paint on? Thanks, Jon
  3. I use spinning gear for almost everything. I'm not real good with a bait caster and don't pull it out often enough. I've used a spinning set up since I was a kid so that's where I'm most confortable.
  4. I do like the Palomar knot myself.
  5. I've never used braid before but the bait monkey made me pick some up today, along with some hooks and some frogs. Silly monkey! I'm going to be putting SpiderWire Stealth Braid 20lb (6lb dia) on a spinning reel. What backer do you suggest? What knot to connect the two? And finally what knot do you suggest to tie to the hook? Thanks in advance, Jon
  6. cought this one in a 12 acre public pond, while recovering from neck surgery. Doc said don't do anything strenious and to relax. So I did!
  7. I beat the banks at Hazel Hill a few years back and did pretty good. Now that I have a little boat I'd like to go back out there and get in them trees!
  8. I just looked at the DOC page and it says it should have been open to fishing 1 March 09! the main page doesn't say it's closed anymore! I'd go today but it's WINDY and raining right now. If it clears up I may head out. Rott
  9. That was out at Clover Dell, it's MAYBE a 5 min drive from my house. I don't know if Blind Pony is open to fish yet, last I heard it wasn't but I'm gonna have to check into that. It's been closed for several years, it'll be good fishing due to lack of pressure on the fish! Any time you are down this way let me know, maybe we can get a line wet together. Rott
  10. Funny thing was I didn't expect to catch anything! AND it was on my 5th cast I think, just tossin a plastic worm in and around the pile of brush! I have to admit tho, I got broke off about 3 times in there, the water was up alot higher than normal and I couldn't remember exactly how that pile of wood was laying in the water. Oh well!
  11. Check out the pic I posted in My Tourney or Outing. I took that bass in a PUBLIC 12 acher pond. Don't know what the water temp was but the air temp was about 45 with a wind steady at about 15mph. I took that bass off the point of the brush pile. Unfortunately I didn't weigh it in my excitement and trying to get one of my son's over to take the pic! But OH WELL! The first one of 09! Hope it continues!!! LOL!
  12. I know I haven't been around for a while but I'm back! The kids had the day off today so I took them fishing. Here's a pic from my camera phone of the first one in 09, looks like it'll be a GREAT year if this keeps up!
  13. I picked up a Berkley Digital 15 lb scale last year. Ummm lost the instructions :-[ Anyone tell me how to change it from Kg to Lbs? I'm tired of getting on the internet and converting the weights that way! Thanks in advance. Jon
