  1. I use only 2 lines. PP braid on 3 outfits, and yozuri on the other 2 (10lb - 15 lb) It's cheap, and both will cause you 0 problems.
  2. I was just talking about this to someone over a private message...LOL. He was expressing how he has not met anyone yet, and I commented how fortunate I have been to have met and fished with 3 members from BR. They are great guys, and if the opportunity presents itself again, I would go with each of them again. When you meet for the first time in person, its a cool experience because its a transition from the internet world to the real world.
  3. Snagless Sally!! that was the first lure I ordered for myself when I was a kid. LOL. Didn't know what I was doing back then, but the advertisement sold me as a kid. Ah!! Good times!!
  4. I have never personally eaten oscar, although people say they are pretty good. Besides that, fish from the glades have very high mercury content, so catch and release is highly recommended.
  5. Just in case anyone is interested to know, i didn't know where else to post this. I noticed on my last two outings that oscar's are making a come back out in the glades. They are real fun fish especially for kids.
  6. X3 on the carbonlites. Mine is several years old and still going strong.
  7. You have been way too quiet lately, so i know you are in your sound studio working on your greatest video yet!! LOL.....
  8. Had a blast with a good buddy of mine in the glades yesterday. Between the two of us 52 LMB were caught and released. Biggest went 4.5 lbs. The best is still yet to come.
  9. Sorry, it's the best I can do buddy.... however you are more than welcome to run the show in the mean time. I can just imagine the video of the week series. You will be a super star. Think about it.....
  10. It is cool idea, we spent some time discussing it. We will iron out the details, and roll it out in May. We think many of you will like it.
  11. I make it conscious effort to recognize what I am, and am not in control of while I am fishing. For example, I am in control of the physical mechanics that's involved in fishing. However, the biggest challenge is to control what is between my ears. Controlling my mind, when a fishing day is not going to plan. Accepting the fact that no matter what I do, or what I throw, sometimes fish flat out refuse to bite sometimes.
  12. I hope everyone had a good New Years day. I had a good one. Spent the entire day fishing with LMG out in glades. Overall we did ok, landed 52 fish, biggest fish honor went to LMG who landed a beautiful 19" 4.5 lb bass. The rest of the fish were running on the small side until LMG hooked up again with a big one!! This one ran around 60" +!! It was a nice healthy juvenile gator. After that excitement we kept fishing and catching until we wrapped our day. Got some some new and fresh ideas for our competitions, however I will unvail these ideas when I return in May. I will see you guys around.
  13. I have the 3 rd Gen S, I have never tried the orra. I really enjoy my S. Its light, smooth, and it casts light weights well for me. This reel, like i mentioned in another thread, is great light soft plastics reel. It handles flukes and spooks also. If you are looking to challenge this reel in heavier applications then the S, will not be my recommendation. I would recommend the SX or STX if you can swing it. My brother in law as has the orra SX, and it seems heavier to me than the Revo's. That's my .02
  14. I am with Doyle on this one. When your flipping or pitching in slop, the fish are reacting from something that just dropped from above or around them. I do use fluro as leader with braid but for limited applications. But for flipping or pitching its straight braid for me.
  15. ^^^^^^^^ What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^
  16. Gator, way to hang in there. That one day placed you top ten. Good for you. Good luck with the wedding plans. Its right around the corner.
  17. That fished would have placed you right behind me. You would have been 7th. Looking at those numbers both of us would have needed some hail mary fish to hit top 3. LOL. It was nice having you on board this month. I hope its not the last we see of you on here FishinDaddy.
  18. Ok gang, here are the final numbers of 2013. I was holding for Lunkmaster, who said he was fishing this morning, but I have not seen him around. So here we go. 1. Dsidle: 24" 22" 21" 19.5" 18.5" = 105" 2. Lunkmaster: 22" 21" 19" 18.5" 18.5" = 99" 3. Jacob: 21.5" 21.5" 21" 17" 16.5" = 97.5" 4. Joe: 21" 20.5" 20.5" 17" 16" = 95" 5. LMG: 21" 20" 20" 17" 16" = 94" 6. Bassinlou: 20" 19" 18" 17.5" 16" = 90.5" 7. BostonSox: 19.5" 17" 17" 16.5" 16" = 86" 8. Rovingmutt: 18.5" 18.5" 16" 15.5" 15.5" = 84" 9. FishinDaddy: 19" 18.5" 18.5" 16.5" = 72.5" 10. Fishingator: 19" 15" 14" 12" 12" = 72" 11. ZachD. 17.5" 13.5" = 31" 12. FSTR: 20.5" 13. MCS: 14.5" There were a total of 22 participants this month and 13 posted fish. As you can see the top 5 put up some great numbers this month. This last week there were several surges, and some of you moved up while some of us moved down. Like I said a couple of weeks ago, when the smoke settles we will see who the "King of Hill" will be. This month it was clearly Dsidle, not only did he have longest string of fish, he also landed the Biggest fish of the month with a 8lb+ monster. Great job, and congratulations on winning this months contest. Like I posted earlier today. This will be it for me coordinating the Bragging Contests for several months. It was fun. We had are ups and we had our downs but we stuck with it. I will be around posting, the glades is going to start firing up soon, so I will share those experiences with you all. Happy New Year!!
  19. No, no..... I just want to put it out there, I am just taking a leave of absence from coordinating the competition. This forum is my home and I am not going anywhere. I will be sharing my catches and sharing my outings on here. Someone has to keep you knuckleheads in line. Lol...
  20. Jacob, it was great having you. Thanks for being part of the gang. Don't be a stranger and post those aerobatic lunkers.
  21. I love the very late in the 4th qtr surge. You made the top 5. That one there places you in 5th place at 94". You are on a roll. I better put you on some fish tomorrow. LOL....
  22. That is a very creative title, and it has a nice ring to it. LOL. To piggy back off this thread, I hope to be back after my season is over. I understand that many of us are busy, and to take over this responsibility that I volunteered for may be a big undertaking if you want to do it right. Like, I mentioned yesterday, I will be fishing with LMG tomorrow, and I will be picking his brain as far as his ideas for this competition. I agree with MCS, this format may have gotten stale. None the less, as a competitor it was still fun for me. This competition as innocent as it was, made me a better bass fisherman at the end of the day. I learned a great deal while I been doing this. AK, mentioned another thing about Disney world which is true. It's a lot easier to have fun and enjoy the experience when there is someone else doing the organizing. That's a perfect example, of why I volunteered to do this and believe or not I spent 6 months "organizing" this competition trying my hardest to bring in new blood and keep this competition going. I am definitely going to miss this, that's for sure. When I come back, I hope to return with fresher ideas and formats. I wish all of you the very best, you are all great anglers and you make Florida proud . May all of you have a Happy and Healthy New year, and be safe with all of the festivities tonight. I will be home tonight, because I want to start the New Year with what I love doing. BASS FISHING!! I will post our final numbers later today. It was fun hangin and braggin with you guys and gal. Til next time. Bassinlou.
  23. I corrected your 18" to 20" and that places you at 90". I think that has been your highest ever submitted. WTG!!
  24. The S and STX are very smooth reels. They both cast well. As far as tolerance, the STX can tolerate harder fishing than the S. The S has become my light plastics and top water lures reel for specifically fluking and spooking. Compared to the LEWS. The MG and TP are both work horses, and they feel tougher to me. The TP has the brawn and finesses I am looking for currently. Hopefully I answered your question.
  25. I have 3 of the Revo line reels. S (3rd G) SX (2nd Gen) STX (3rd G). All 3 have been great to me. I also coincidentally, have a LEWS Tournament MG and a Tournament PRO. One of biggest differences between the 2 reels are their drag. The tournament pro is superior with 14lbs.
