  1. I was on the Alley last week, with a good buddy of mine from BR. We saw bedding activity. Not much, but they are beginning to.
  2. Everglades?? With fish like that, stay in your backyard, and catch more of those pigs!! The glades is not producing big fish yet, unless you have a secret spot out in the flats, like some guys do.
  3. Just like someone's is lucky enough to win a lottery, someone is lucky enough in one cast, to catch their bass of a lifetime.
  4. Based on your forum name, if you live in Weston, you are living in one the best bass fishing areas in Broward imho. You just have to explore it a little more. I drive 30 min just to fish in your neck of the woods because of the fishery you have.
  5. If you are willing to spend a little more $$ Chatillon are great scales.
  6. They are only a SE FL fish. Farthest North is Palm Beach the farther SE, the higher their populations. West Coast does not have pea's.
  7. If I could, I would have tried to do some fishing today. Definitely not in the times I call MCS or LMG times. Which is in the early, early hours of the morning. I would try now thru about 4:30. After that, I would hang it up for the following day. The temp, is one thing, and this constant hard North wind is another.
  8. The cold spell, will not effect the peacocks. The cold is only for a couple days, the water can't cool off that fast. You tell me cold temps for month like 2010, then we got problems.
  9. LOL.... Yeah I don't get to experience the cold you guys do up there, so I am real lightweight when it comes to that. Now put me out in the glades in the middle of summer with 90% humidity and temps in the 90's and I can handle that. Crazy!! I know.
  10. I use the alberto knot for both backing and leader. When I used spinners i used 20lb PP braid with a minimum of 10lb leader if I went that route.
  11. Besides the cold spell for us down here, I will only be fishing on the weekends from now on. So please share your exciting weekly fishing reports.
  12. Managed to get out for an hour before dark, and caught one bass and I was hunting a decent peacock but I ran out of light and time. Oh well.
  13. They feed off algae on the bottom, carp are little different. Another name for the suckermouth catfish, is armored catfish. They have a very tough exterior.
  14. They are called suckermouth catfish. We have tons and tons of them. They are purely vegetarian. You come across a fish you can't ID, go to FWC fresh or saltwater fish identification and they will show you native and non-native species that live on our waters.
  15. You will be fine with 30lb braid for your MH.
  16. Nice fish Mutt. This time of year, with the weather fluctuating with fronts every week, the fish get lock jaw. I know fish in my neck of the woods get really sensitive to it.
  17. What meant to say, was the water level in your batteries. Over time and use the water levels decrease and you need to fill up the cells with distilled water.
  18. Enjoy!!
  19. Oh, remember to stay on top of the water levels and charging and your battery will last you a long while.
  20. That's fair trade off between you and AK, you provided the the boat, he should provide the muscle just in case.
  21. No Saturday fishing for me, its been raining all day again. I will take it compared to the rest of the country is feeling. We are in the mid to upper 70's today.
  22. As far as color, I have always used moss green. The use of leaders is completely different topic.
  23. Dark colored medium sized Koppers first and foremost. Then Booyah's pad crasher, a good close second.
  24. Dsidle, great idea!! This thread will be our fishing dock sort of speak, to hang and shoot the breeze. Nice boat!! It reminds me when I was younger and a friend of mine had an aluminum boat that nobody used. I bought a wooden oar, and used a cinderblock as the anchor. It took on a little water but I didn't care as long as I could get out and fish. Your fishing will change for sure in that boat. Good for you!! Start being aware of the capabilities of that motor and battery(s). Bring an oar or two just in case. Enjoy!!
