  1. I don't know my way around the flats at Lox, but if the weather is touch and go I am like George, the Alley has bridges, tie off and shoot the breeze. Mike, Lox treats you well, heck any where you go usually treats you well, lol... Fished MM35, Miami Canal North, on Sunday and I caught for the first time in while a 20lb bag on just top water bites.
  2. Today's my 40th birthday and I woke up to a pinched nerve in my mid-back. Actually, I have been dealing with it and receiving treatment for it since yesterday, but it was not the way I intended to welcome 40. Geesh.... LOL...
  3. From time to time I have seen anglers take out their dogs in the glades. They are very well behaved dogs because if doggy decides to jump off the boat for a swim, doggy will probably not make it back.
  4. Yeah... Boynton to Pembroke Pines is a long drive. Bummer... I am impressed with the line up this store has lately. Booyah must have exclusivity rights or something because they have a variety of spinnerbait colors that BPS does not carry. They also carry an array of Booyah jigs as well. Sales are going on all the time.
  5. What part of South FL are you staying at? Dick's carry a nice variety of baits. At least the one in Pembroke Pines does.
  6. Very nice pig you caught there gar-tracker!!
  7. Cool George!! You found a pocket of time to get some quality fishing in.
  8. If your on a golf course your fine.. back to your question. At night you can go 2 paths. Noisy or big profile baits. Noisy, for example buzzbaits, spinnerbaits with very big colorado blades, uvibe worms. Big profile would be big worms big jigs with trailers and so forth. Make sure you have a lightsource with you. Preferably a head lamp. Know your surroundings during the day first before you venture it at night. Goodluck and have fun.
  9. May you have a speedy recovery. Stick to your rehab.
  10. Wait a second... Dick's stores carry megastrike? Does this apply to all their stores or is this just a region thing? I have not seen megastrike in the South FL store.
  11. ^^^what he said^^^ Thanks for the outing, but its not happening again. Blatant disregard to his and your safety, and no respect for the environment. Not the type of person I will like to be hanging around and associated with.
  12. I don't know the name of the critter that was on that flat head. But if most of you will study the bass you catch carefully, most often than not you will see the same critter on that bass. I know on most of the bass I catch I can see them sliding around the slime of the bass. I have yet to contract any foreign flesh eating diseases.. Simply wash off your hands and keep fishing. LOL...
  13. Thanks Bigmouth.. Raul also provided us with the same video very recently. It was the "Know your Prey" thread. Seeing big bass feed is a cool thing to see.
  14. Congrats Big O in being inducted in to the Karate Hall of Fame. The fish was ok......
  15. Hey bassin is addicting, I finally was able to use the Charlie worms yesterday, and yes they do float. Similar to how the article depicted. Unfortunately, I didn't catch anything but I wanted to report back to you. Good luck if you grab a bag.
  16. I actually bought a box at BPS last year, specifically geared toward spinnerbaits. The box contains groove of sorts where you insert your spinnerbait by the collar and then the wire can be clipped in to another slot so that the spinner bait stays upright inside the box. You can pack in several spinnerbaits inside of it. Here I found it for you... http://www.basspro.com/Plano-Elite-Spinnerbait-Organizer-360704/product/10210353/ Hopefully that will help you.
  17. Both sides of the leader and no leader discussion have valid points. Bigblock, you made some very valid points. Others that use leaders have also brought up valid points. We use what we think and feel will work for us in the situations that come up and the water's that "we" fish in. This topic will always bring with it agreements and disagreements. But, at the end of the day if we accomplished and caught the fish that we were after, we all succeeded.
  18. I applaud you catching fish in the masses while you put on clinics in front of others. Your comment has been noted, and I respectfully disagree. Certain conditions and situations calls for a very stealthy approach. If the presentation is not right and the fish notices something isn't right, like dark braided line attached to a bait, its game over.
  19. Or the possibility maybe that its a small bass and they may just be grabbing the tail. I have seen them do it.
  20. Casting light lures is challenging. What's even more challenging is the fact that this is your first b/c. There is a learning curve to be had. My suggestion is go to heavier lures and work on properly adjusting the reel so that you can minimize overruns and eventually increase your distance. Learning how to control your reel with your thumb is not as easy as you might think. Practice.... what line are you using?
  21. My tow vehicle is a 2000 Tundra V8 w/ 107,000. This truck has always treated me right.
  22. Get 580P (plastic). They are great and they will last you a long time. Besides, they have lifetime warranty's.
  23. I tie a leader with my braid when I fish crystal clear lakes. A place I fish has clear water and the bass are really line shy. I have watched how they see my bait from quite a distance approach and do a complete u-turn once they see the line. On sunny days especially, it can be a little frustrating.
  24. Geez!! Raul how big was that hog??
  25. WTG!! Nice little pig.
