  1. Like a couple have already mentioned, i do it by feel, and adjust accordingly depending on the situation.
  2. What's up Jose!! That was long day you put in. Heck, I did just about the same thing a couple of weeks ago and practically did the same thing. The only difference was that I caught 4 fish 3 dinks and 1, 4lbr as well. Instead of the frog surprisingly, it slammed a mouse!! LOL!! I posted this pic on here already i think but in case you didn't see it, here it is.
  3. I am with Sir Snooks way of thought. I let conditions and seasons be my guide. Superstitions and lucky charms have never been my thing. But hey, if it works for you, so be it.
  4. Too bad you couldn't edit the video. I would have loved to have seen a different part of the glades I have never seen before. Just the screen shot alone confirms this.
  5. Fishnct, welcome to BR. Brian hit the nail on the head. Contact Capt Shane. Really nice guy, always willing to share information and help a fellow angler out. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
  6. Hi RHuff. Welcome to BR. I have the boat you are asking about. My number 1 and 2 suggestion for this boat is to max out the HP and TM. So a 40 HP and #55lb thrust TM if you are going 12 volt, will really maximize the boats attributes. There is an ongoing thread on this topic as well. Here it is. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/148764-bass-tracker-pro-170/ Best of luck with your choice, and enjoy.
  7. The two snake heads I caught were North of Markham park. Both were caught on frogs. As far as handling them goes. Get yourself " The Fishgrip" its an inexpensive fish grip made of plastic that floats. They cost about $7 at BPS. I love it. It has slot specially made for scales and makes fish handling easier on the fish and fisherman. Good luck.
  8. Now I don't have reason to check in any more you answered all the questions already.... LOL!! Very informative. What you did will help many people, if they check in to read it.
  9. Pretty fish... i have never seen one of those.
  10. Thanks for the report George. Nice to see you on the water again.
  11. Extremely common. Learning this now will help you know when its bass down the road.
  12. Very true..... load up on plenty of hooks and weights. When I used to fish the bridges, getting hung up was given.
  13. Hi Rick, good to see you posting again. It has been awhile. Welcome back.
  14. X4 on the Carbonlites. They surprised the heck out of me when I had one.
  15. Sorry for your loss C&G.
  16. Yep... they have been spawning since last month.
  17. It's not overspooled. But it's pretty close. I prefer my spinners spooled just the way your picture depicts. Like Mark and others have already mentioned, braid takes a few outings to soften a bit. When its new like that, I can see how it can be springy. In your case, just take off several feet and the problem should go away. Keep in mind since your new to braid and your so use to mono; mono is very springy. Braid has 0 stretch. You may have to adjust your drag and/or your hooksets to accomodate for this. There is a little learning curve, but once you get adjusted to it, you will be alright. Good luck.
  18. You gotta love those gift cards!! Congrats on your purchase. Very nice reel, enjoy!!
  19. Wow... Shane, two things. You weren't kidding about how tight those surroundings were going to be. #2. When I see your videoes you show me areas of the glades I have never seen!!
  20. Those are great baits for pea's you have to move them fast and eratic. As far as why you didn't catch anything, who knows. At least with me if i am specifically fishing for pea's i have to cover alot water. I don't fish the blue lagoon chain because pea's all over the place down here. The warmer the water the more active they become. Keep at it. You'll get em.
  21. One reel, I can understand. Same problem on a second reel? Are you positive you are closing it properly?
  22. I don't think you will be disappointed.
  23. I had a Gen 3 STX up until a couple of weeks ago. I have had a couple of Curado I's for few months now. Although the STX served me well for a few years, the Curado I imho, outshines the STX. The Curado is much smoother and quieter during operation. The STX even after having it professionally stripped down and serviced still had a subtle geary sound and feel to it. It did not effect the performance of the reel I don't think, however it bugged me to no end. The Curado, completely different. Very smooth, very quiet, and a overall very nice reel at the $180 price point. My vote would be the Curado. Good luck.
  24. I was out of Mm35 out on the alley. Miami canal North.
  25. Nice fish.
