  1. Uvibe speed worm or a magnum uvibe. Work it over the weeds and then burn through the open pockets.
  2. I think the chug bug will fall under the popper category. If it does. I've caught plenty of bass off them.
  3. Hi Mutt, from the reports posted so far, the water is down. However, water quality seems to be a problem as of late.
  4. Yep!! That's the one I use in 12lb. Really good line. Tough as nails. Look in your local Walmart's they sell the exact spool.
  5. I use the Drop Dead swim bait hooks. They have the little weight, I see what your saying about the heavier ones with a cube looking weight. Yeah, I do not throw those.
  6. Great reel, I have had for several years. Very smooth and like the handle. It feels a little longer than your standard handles.
  7. I throw 12 lb yozuri hybrid, works great for this type of application.
  8. The setup you are interested in will work just fine. Like someone mentioned earlier, the only way the rod will break is if you do something extreme. When frogging I do not tighten down my drag all the way. My drag is set so that when I set the hook the spools stays in place, but when the fish surges the drag will do its thing. Tightening a drag all way down can lead to losing a nice fish when frogging. When you're flipping and pitching I can see why you are tightening down your drag. As long as your not exaggerating working the fish or making ridiculous hooksets your rod will be more than fine.
  9. Sometimes you catch something sometimes you don't. Next time you never know.
  10. I have been a Gammy guy for years, but recently a buddy of mine introduced me to the VMC swimbait hook, and I like the design of it. The hooksets are pretty deep in the fishes mouth.
  11. No, I live at the Northern of the Dade County. I.rar lives down south.
  12. This canal system is South of Dolphin mall.
  13. Ah... makes sense.. lol
  14. Thanks... however I was no where close to Cutler bay. I consider that area South Dade.
  15. When I bank fish, I fish in urban canals.
  16. Powerpro 50lbs. Has never let me down.
  17. I throw frogs on 2 rods. When I am bank fishing, and I am fishing around light to moderate cover I use a 7ft MH Avid. When I am out in the Glades I throw H rod due to the thick cover I come across. Choose a rod based on the amount of cover you are going to primarily be fishing. As far as casting distance? I actually get more distance when I am using my H rig because the length of my rod is longer. 7'3" vs a 7ft.
  18. My PB came out of US 27. Very good area to fish. Countless finger channels and although they all look identical, the cover inside them can consist of different things in each one, thus making each finger channel unique. If you can figure out where the fish are and what they want, 27 will provide you with a boat load of fish. Good luck.
  19. I have forgotten that dial is there. Lol!! I have set all 3 of my Curado's with 2 brakes and I have forgotten about it. Literally.
  20. I believe colors make a difference when frog fishing. There may be days where any color seems like it will get hit, but there other days where just by changing the color determines the difference between having your frog looked at vs having it crushed.
  21. I had some time to burn yesterday in the early afternoon so I decided to go the park which I consider my fishing playground. Lol!! Inside the hour I caught 7 bass and I managed to convince this beauty to take my offering. She went for 5.5lbs and measured 21"
