  1. Once again, you are correct. The benefits of a sound strength and conditioning program has and will work wonders for those that choose to adopt the lifestyle. I am very familiar with these individuals because I work with them everyday. I have been and am currently in the strength and conditioning industry. Have been for over 20 yrs. So I whole heartedly agree that strength training will help, but, even those that workout often, still get hurt. As far as this thread goes, we are just trying to offer helpful advice to those that are currently effected with this injury. Speaking about the benefits of weight training is helpful and at this stage of the injury process not the most ideal. They have to get the inflammation under control first by seeking help from those individuals in the physical therapy arenas than begin a strength training program that can further hurt them if not approached and taught correctly.
  2. A well balanced strength and conditioning program is ideal, I agree with you. After the pain and inflammation subsides some basic strength training will help tremendously.
  3. What the orthopedic defined to you is tendonitis. That's what it basically means. Consistent and repetitive movements on one or more planes over long periods of time. Tendons are connected at the end of muscles. Although a professional massage may be extremely uncomfortable, it will help break up the tissue and cause a healing response. I know it sounds counter productive however its a very common and effective practice among massage and physical therapists. It worked for my shoulder and my elbow. Didn't look forward to it, but it worked wonders. Best of luck. Another thing that might help is to use your non-dominant hand for while when using the mouse on the computer.
  4. A constant sore shoulder can possibly be tendonitis as well. Of what muscle group depends on where the the discomfort is originating from. The shoulder is the most complex of all the joints. I would recommend suspend fishing for a while and apply ice and rest for several days to up to a week. If the problem persists you may have to take it a step further. I also had tendonitis in my shoulder years ago. I did aggressive physical therapy for it and fortunately over came the issue. Best of luck.
  5. If your are seriously considering adding stick worms to your arsenal, someone already mentioned it. Buy bulk, look around or take advantage of the site sponsors and buy 50 pack of stickbaits. BPS currently has a sale of bulk stick o's.
  6. Frogging is a very exciting technique to use for bass fishing. It gets your heart pounding and the hits are just spectacular. As far as modifications go. Many anglers have had good success modifying there frogs. Bending the hooks out is one of them. The frog can be fished in several ways. All those ways can bring you great success at one point or another. Do not limit your ways to fish it because one particular person chooses to fish it a certain way. Best of luck in your frogging adventures.
  7. If you stuck that bass with a jig, it's not going to be coming back for seconds any time soon.
  8. You should be ok with ramps along the alley and US 27. A Ram truck with rear wheel drive, will man handle that jon boat. You are not going to have a problem loading and unloading your boat.
  9. Have you caught a bass on your creation yet? For an open water presentation it looks interesting. For dense cover, it doesn't look pratical. Best of luck with your creation.
  10. I once caught a wallet while fishing when I was I kid.
  11. Creative, I will give you that. Try these Lake Fork hooks that were made for this sole purpose. http://www.basspro.com/Lake-Fork-Trophy-Lures-Frog-Tail-Hook/product/11111505010510/
  12. IBTL.... I have several of those, used them, but not much success. I will stick with a frog. Lol!!
  13. "O" you're back on track. A beauty last month and another this month!! Great looking fish bud!!
  14. Welcome to BR, you will see numerous South FL BR members on here. My advice to you being a bass fishing rookie and new member is to stick around for a while. Get to know the members. Get to know the site, read the articles and watch the video's to improve your skills and when your time comes and a member invites you on their boat, you will be better versed in catching bass. Who knows, you may even break your PB record in the process from the bank. You will be surprised how very nice bass can be caught from the bank. Lastly, you provided a descent intro, work on your profile and provide more info if you will like other's to take notice and possibly invite you on their boat. Best of luck to you and see you around the site.
  15. For the application you are talking about, I think about trying 10lb copoly like Yozuri ( personally I throw 12lb). Stronger and more durable than mono. If fishing in clear water less visible than braid, and has better abrasion resistance as well.
  16. Long time user of Kopper's LT frogs. Can fish them various ways and they can take one heck of a beating before they have to be retired.
  17. When I fish in the glades, if I just want flat out numbers, I will throw a 4" stickworm or zoom centipede and catch bass all day long.
  18. The infamous slurp I have found usually come from nice big bass!! I have seen them swim up casually to my HB frog position themselves below it and slurp down my frog like if it was an oyster. Lol!!
  19. Unfortunately harm and sometimes death may occur to fish when its caught. As far as an eye of a fish being hooked, it is close to impossible to remove a hook that has penetrated right through the middle of the jelly, without losing the eye. Again, unfortunate, however the fish will survive and possibly live a full life. I have caught very nice bass where one of their eyes have been missing for quite some time.
  20. I have landed many beautiful Pea's with 12 lb yozuri. Braid will do the trick too, but if you are going to use fast moving baits the yozuri will serve you better. Also, our canals down here have a lot limestone, so if the Pea decides to do a hard run into the limestone, kiss your braid goodbye. Best of luck when you come down. August is going to be hot!! But Pea's love hot weather.
  21. I haven't but I am sure that was cool to see!!
  22. I am thinking the same thing. Those little bass slap at, and push frogs often.
  23. I recently switched to Trokar for my punching and flipping hook. I use to use Gami but the bait keeper kept becoming loose and it became annoying.
  24. You are absolutely right. My suggestion was that if the pattern remained consistent and the frog was getting hit on the retrieve, switching over to a buzzing frog would help.
  25. If the bass are consistently hitting a retrieved frog, that would tell me to switch frogs and use a Horny Toad or a Rage Toad.
