  1. I have had Maui for a long time great glasses. I currently for the last few years have had costa's, and there awesome sunglasses for fishing and being outdoors. That being said, I would lean toward the Maui's just because you are getting them directly from the source. The ebay dealer may be legit. It has already been mentioned to really check the reliability of the dealer. If he sells you fakes, call him out on it , which will effect his reliability score. Again, if your getting your hands on a pair of Maui's that are for sport/ outdoors, and not a casual pair, go with Maui.
  2. My original choice for the money was the S however the BPS I visited did not have any in stock, so I decided to spend a liitle bit more and bought the SX. I have been reading about the SX on this forum for quite some time now and fortunately for me I love my red and black Revo. I have it adjusted just right , its smooth and it can cast a mile, sometimes it goes too far.
  3. I own the stradic CI4 for at least a couple of years now, and it has not disappointed. Durable, light, looks cool. I have handled pretty nice bass on it ( 5lb +). The only thing I have against mine is the handle. It's the small foam one. I have gotten use to it. I have no experience with the other reels mentioned.
  4. Diddo for me on the Costa 580G Man o' war green mirrored lenses. Awesome!!! Warranty awesome too. This is my second pair. Costa replaced my first pair no questions asked when the nose guard for whatever reason became loose.
  5. Unfortunately, due to distance I can see why your option would be to order on-line.
  6. 21farms, brings up a good point about the display mounts, if I am interested in a reel, I personally go see the reel first and I also get a new one from the box and attach it to a rod to see how it feels. Buying a reel on-line is convenient, but you are taking a risk. Unfortunatley, for Cody0707, the big chain fishing shops are far from home and he has to the roll the dice.
  7. Beautiful fish Shane, what did she tip the scale at ?
  8. With the amount of water that's there now you could go all the way west til you hit indian country, however if we ever have drought like conditions again and that water drops, and depending on your boat, you will be stuck at those weirs.
  9. My condolences. That is a heart breaker.
  10. Sweet rig, looks like you are going to have lots of fun on it.
  11. Better to be safe, than sorry.
  12. Good move, by the first fish you would have forgotten of the $160. Enjoy!!!
  13. Being the owner of both premier and avid rods, the info that everyone has shared is good. If you can get your hands on a legend on sale for $160 its a no brainer and you will not be disappointed.
  14. You could, however once you get there you will have a dam 2 miles to the south. Then you will have a dam 6 miles to the north.
  15. Unionman, IMHO, I do not think it was the set up. Based on what you described, unless you left some info out. You said you caught 7 fish in a couple of hours. Did you check your line/knot after the first couple of fish? I know sometimes I get into them and fail to check my line every so often and snap!!! Flouro leaders are helpful but there not bullet proof. Hope that tid bit helped.
  16. Evrgladesbasser, do you think all the pumping they are doing is part of the everglades restoration project or something else? Sounds like you get out alot more than me, has the everglades been has productive for you this year compared to last year around this time?
  17. Quick question for you guys. Do you think the amount of rain we have had in SoFla so far is going to cause the bass to do their migration back into the flats early in the glades? The true rainy season is right around the corner. Any thoughts?
  18. Congrats on saving your money for this reel. You will not be disappointed. I have the 2500 on a med 7ft Carbonlite. Light as a feather, and it handles great. I have caught two bass around the 5-6 lb range so far this year and this setup did great. Enjoy!!
  19. I wear crocs. You don't want to sunburn your fee,t wear socks and your feet will be comfortable all day.
  20. What's in the water over there in Texas. How heavy is that beauty? Is that the only size you catch over there? LOL.
  21. I have not fished that far up north for a while. Have any of you guys fished the Holey lands lately?
  22. Thank you for the useful feedback I appreciate it. One more question. Is lox as affected with rising waters as the glades after the summer rains?
  23. Hi folks, I need some information in regards to fishing loxhatchee. I want to start fishing there after this summer when the water levels in the glades rise again. From what I can see from google earth there is perimeter canal around the preserve and some canoe trails or finger channels that spread into the preserve. Are boats allowed into those canoe trails or are they too shallow? Or is fishing just limited to the perimeter canal? Any advice and info would be greatly appreciated.
  24. I use the stradic CI4 2500 series on a 7ft Carbon light Med power. I love this setup. The reel is awesome. Yes, the foam handle is something to get used to however if you choose the right set up you will not be disappointed. I have battled several bass in the 6lb plus range this year so far and this reel did awesome. I used #30 braid with #15 fluro leader.
  25. I agree with 00 Mod, it probably tore up your spinnerbait. Down here in South Fl we also call them mudfish. Just last month I lost two Boo-yah spinnerbaits to mudfish twice that size. I agree with the numbers, that fish looks in the 5-6lbs range.
