  1. They look interesting, however they are not out yet. They were introduced at ICAST this year and it takes a little while to distribute. Have you used the Kopper's regular frog? Those are the ones that I use and there awesome.
  2. Some of my biggest bass have been caught on spinnerbaits. They are fun to catch them with huh?
  3. Yes, I noticed that when I reading about Homer that someone at BR put thread out about him. I don't know how I missed it. Either way he will be missed greatly.
  4. I am envious of your story RW. I have some serious cabin fever. I have been combing thru BR seems like every 5 min LOL. Hurricane Issac has got me indoors today and it cancelled my trip to the everglades yesterday. As you can imagine am going nuts. I need my bass fishing fix man. LOL.
  5. It isn't about ideas any more my friend. You have been given over the last few weeks a wealth of information from many good anglers. Now is the time for you to put in the hours, learn the waters you are fishing and hone in your skills. I don't want to sound tough on you but that is the way it goes sometimes. Stick with the techniques you are comfortable with and put in the time. All of us who are helping you are/or have gone what you are going through and we are better fisherman for it. Like I have told you several times, patience and keep at it. You are one cast away from your lunker.
  6. I received my Bassmaster issue yesterday and as I reading along I find out Uncle Homer died this past June. He went fishing with Glen Lau on Sunday June 17, which is something they did together every Sunday, and he passed away that Fri. My condolenceses to his family and friends. We lost a great one. However his teachings will last a life time.
  7. Keep at it.
  8. Kristo, say it isn't so. Nothing?? Did you try the set up I PM'd you. The only other explanation about today could be this incoming hurricane is affecting the barometric pressure and its shutting them off. Hey, at least you got out today. I cancelled my trip in the glades because of this system. I will try next Saturday. I expect you to catch something after this hurricane passes.
  9. Try it and let us know.
  10. Braid is great for finesse applications. With a fluro leader you are well aware of what happening with your bait. This type of set up transmits the lightest peck or pick up.
  11. Power Pro 20lb, with a fluro or yozuri hybrid leader and your in business
  12. The type of leader depends on the fishing you will be doing. For example some guys on here would use fluro leader for just about anything, others would use mono for soft jerkbaits. I personally use mono for jerkbait presentations and fluro for everything else. My best advice is to experiment and see what works for you. Also make sure you are proficient in your knot tying for joining braid with other lines.
  13. I am fortunate to live in South Fl and enjoy fishing all winter long. The only down side is that the days get a little shorter. I' ll deal with it.
  14. I was geared up and good to go today. I was also excited to deliver a great fishing report tonight. Unfortunately Issac has different plans. We have been put on hurricane watch down here in South FL. High winds and an aluminum boat do not go well so i decided to cancel our trip and try again next weekend. Hopefully, this system does not dump too much water in the area because the bass in the glades will venture out of the canals and into the flats for a while. Hope the rest you of you guys around the country do well this weekend.
  15. I don't think you will be disappointed with Abu's. They are great reels, they get better the higher you go up the line.
  16. Sounds like its time to pull the trigger then.
  17. Keep at it Kristo. Persistence pays off.
  18. In situations like those, I will use a mono leader, Imo I find the mono gives the soft jerk bait more fluidity in its movement if that makes sense. Also hook size plays a role too.
  19. Cute and cool Vid.
  20. How long have you had the batteries for? They could be at there end already. I personally have Die Hard batteries with sears. They have treated me well with no issues.
  21. Cool looking place you are fishing at. What part of town is that? Yeah, you have to keep your eyes open in those quiet secluded areas, if your estimate was right and he was 3ft long you were lucky it was just a baby. Be careful for snakes along the water edge also.
  22. Live and learn. Summer is a slow time. Its not impossible to catch fish however as you have experienced so far it can be tough. You have two choices keep at it. Or just don't fish. Keep your head up.
  23. I will play too. In no particular order. 1. Zoom finesse worm (watermelon seed) 2. Zoom swamp crawler " " 3. Zoom french fry " " 4. Zoom fluke " " 5. Zoom trick worm " " 6. Zoom horny toad " " 7. Gambler EZ 8. Yum Stick worm " " and ozark smoke 9. Zoom u-vibe (watermelon seed) 10. Zoom baby fluke " "
  24. It is probably punctured somewhere and taking on water. I throw 50lb braid and my frog stays afloat with no problem. I fish with live target frogsw but i used Spro frog before that. Have you caught fish on it already? Sometimes after several good hooksets the frog can begin showing sighns of wear and water in take is one of them.
  25. Sweet!!
