  1. YZ treated with line conditioner is my go to copoly.
  2. Frog choice for me is based on situations. If the bass are really active and chasing bait I would throw a soft plastic frog like the one above. However if I want to entice bass and stay in the strike zone and surface for a long period of time, the hollow body would be my choice.
  3. The friendly animals that may possibly be in the water, should be recognized and respected. Just move on. Keep your eyes open if you choose to fish along a very grassy or rocky bank. The slithering friends might be sunning themselves. Good luck on your outing.
  4. I thought its been just me, but bank fishing in the stretch of canal I fish at has been very slow for months!!
  5. They definitely get your heart pumping. You have milliseconds to figure out what to do, or they are gone.... lol!!
  6. Historically, March - April produce crazy numbers in the Glades. Hopefully, this is the case this year.
  7. Nope, didn't get a bad one because I bought 2 different colors and I threw them both with similar results.
  8. I have thrown them for 2 outings now. They walk very easily, have a unique tale swishing action. I have not caught a fish on one yet, but I will continue to throw one. The only con for my liking is the fact that you have to squeeze it every other cast due to water seeping in. Bugs me because this doesn't happen to their Live Target frogs. I think this bait will be very popular. I know come this Spring this bait will shine for me.
  9. Keep at it. We have plenty of MC's around. They are fun to catch, especially on lighter outfits.
  10. Went to Lake O today with a good friend of mind and we had a productive outing. We managed to boat 25 fish by the end of the day. This beauty decided to hit right next to the boat.
  11. I heard about this area and that was my intention, but with the wind and my little tin being blown all over the place, I decided to try my luck on 35 based on the wind direction. I will fish this area soon however. Thanks BocaBasser, it's been while that I haven't seen you around.
  12. That canal looks grassy. What else did you throw?
  13. That was your fish to catch on that day. Good Job!!
  14. That's a nice fish right there GulfCapt. Congrats!!
  15. OMG!! That was all in one package!!?? Very Nice!! Merry Christmas indeed.
  16. Nice catch none the less. Congrats on your PB. Based on the pic the bass looks to me in the 4.5 - 5 lb range.
  17. A peacock will out fight a bass any day of the week. That being said, although I have caught numerous peacocks, I enjoy hunting for Big LMB more.
  18. South FL no doubt!! Year round fishing. Best catch rates in the country for LMB during certain seasons, want to mix up you can target Butterfly Peacock bass in the same water you went after the LMB. Really want to be diversified you have back country fishing for : Snook, Tarpon, Permit, and Reds. And I haven't even gotten into the offshore stuff. People are not lying when they say South Florida is one of the best fishing capitals in the world.
  19. That much..wow. I guess it's better than getting caught without having the license. Best of luck on your visit.
  20. Or go online to FWC and purchase and printout your license before you leave home.
  21. I will be hitting Lake Okeechobee with a friend of mine Xmas weekend. But no fishing for me on Xmas Eve or Xmas Day.
  22. When you say seemed shallow, do you have polarized glasses? That area you went to has several spots. I personally like fishing in the smaller canal systems than very big wide canals. Those run much deeper. You had Weston to the NW of your location that has tons of spots, and Pembroke Pines that was SW of your location. Also an area with tons spots. Keep looking you will find canal/lake systems that will suit your fishing.
  23. I throw a couple of soft plastic swimbaits. Gambler's Big EZ and EZ swimmer, and a friend of mine's custom pour.
  24. I enjoy my Curado's and I enjoy my Lews reels as well.
