  1. Quanity has been good for me, Species variety has been pretty good too. But not alot of large fish. Biggest LM this year was about 4 lbs., got a perch that was about 2 1/2 lbs., an 18" Rainbow trout, and a 29-30" pickeral that was pretty fat. That's about the best I have done this year in terms of size.
  2. I almost bought a plastic boat.. but ended up going with a 12' Lowe semi-V. I have about 2300 hundred into it. (Including a used trailer I picked up for 200 bucks). But it is decked out. Casting decks, swivel pedestal seats, depthfinder, storage hatches in the casting decks for storage, rod racks, 45 lb thrust trolling motor and a mini-downrigger setup. It was more time consuming to customize, but I know It will last forever. That 2300 even included my purchasing a cover for it. Everything but the trailer is new. It rides good, it can take a beating, and I can stand in it without feeling unstable. I would reccomend this route to anyone looking for a small lake all electric rig.
  3. I picked up a conquer outdoors tacklebag at walmart for 70 bucks this season...The main reason is it has it's own 3 ring plastics binder with included storage bags to keep plastics organized. It is capable of holding 3 3700 boxes and I can also fit a 3500 box in it along with plenty of additional storage. It has turned out to be the perfect taxkle bag for my needs.
  4. After purchasing a St Croix LTB and Avid, Along with A Pflueger Patriarch and 2 Medalists this season, I can say I am done this year with combos. I should be good on lures for the rest of the year too. Just got 6 more hudd swimbaits and my last plastics order for the year from Bass Pro should be here Friday. So no more spending.....for this season! Next year, who knows?
  5. I use live target lipless cranks most of the time... But I have had some good luck on a 1/2 oz rat-l-trap in bleeding shad (chrome/blue back/red hooks with a couple red spots on the gills. For me, I jusr retrieve based on water temps. Faster when it is warm, slow it down big time in the cold. In the warm watee I begin the retrieve as soon as it hits the water, coldee water I give it a second or two before I retrieve.
  6. Hell, I will sell you my president xt for 45 bucks shipped. Dont use it and it is in great shape. Spooled with 30 lb. suffix 832 performance braid.
  7. pflueger president xt. Aluminum body, reliable, smooth as butter for 80 bucks. And it actually looks good on the rod as well. I don't like my gear looking like it has leporosy! That what I was using on my mojo until I upgraded to a LTB with a Pflueger patriarch.
  8. I use Kershaw Blackouts. USA made and the spring loaded flip open is sweet. The price isnt too horrible at 70 bucks.
  9. I say neither. CXX is too stiff for me and have not used yo zuri yet. Plan on trying it next season on one of my rigs. Right now I use P-line CX and Flouroclear.
  10. Live target lipless crank in bluegill pattern.
  11. 50 lb braid is serious overkill for bass fishing.... unless you plan on fishing for saltwater striped bass.
  12. You should be able to find a St. Croix Mojo bass for around 90 bucks. The 6'8" M/XF is specifically designed for wacky rigging.
  13. This.... I got a group 29 interstate for 95 bucks 2 seasons ago. It has great stats and has showed no signs of weakening after regular use. It is heavy though. But it runs my 45 lb. thrust TM and depthfinder and has never run out of juice on me. My buddies call it "The beast".
  14. If you are using single hook swimbaits, St Croix premier 6'6"-7' MH/F. It would also work good for 1/2 oz.+ weight spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, too.
  15. M/XF for my weightless to lightly weighted plastics
  16. The trion is a good setup from what I have seen. Ill vouch for the reel and my buddy has been beating up 2 combos for the past 4 seasons with no issues.
  17. Not sure about straight flouro...But P-line cx, P-line flouroclear, and Yo-zuri hybrid ultrasoft are all good flouro copoly lines that work well for spinning reels.
  18. I thought you meant they were made of steel. LOL
  19. 6'3" St Croix Avid with a 30 size Pflueger medalist and 10 lb. P-line CX
  20. Just move down to the P-line cx or flouroclear. I use that on a 6'6" St croix premier MH/F paired with a Pflueger Supreme for my crankbait rod and both those lines will perform better on spinning rigs.
  21. Sorry..forgot. 6'3" length
  22. I use a M/XF St. Croix Avid for my Spinnerbait/ Weedless swimbait rod. I
  23. I use a 30 size medalist on my 6'3" medium Avid... All my other rods are 6'6" and longer and all are medium to medium heavy use 35 size pfluegers. I used to have a 302 abu cardinal, and that was more like the 30 size than 35 size pfluegers. Most reel manufacturers from at least what I have seen produce reels that are comparable to 30 and 40 size pfluegers.. Not alot have the " in between" size like pflueger has with their 35 size reels, if that makes sense.lol.
