  1. Berkley powerbait realistix kicker frog, tex-posed on the 4/0 gammy hook that is included in the pack of 3. I have no reason to look at any other frog since I found these .
  2. I believe you can get a St. Croix Premier in a 2 piece rod around that price point. They are Strong, pretty sensitive, and made in the USA with good components.
  3. Went low $ this year. Got a 6'6" Fenwick HMG M/MF. I am all spinning gear and needed a spinning rod specifically for crankbait use. I love my St. Croixs, But needed a rod with a softer tip than anything St Croix offers in their spinning lineup. It is not a bad rod in terms of feel...And best of all it only ran 85 dollars. It is certainly worth every penny spent.
  4. I love my Patriarch so far. I have had it for 7-8 months and fish it regularly. So far, so good.
  5. Pflueger President is a good choice. Or you can go to FFO.com and buy a 2011 Pflueger Supreme. model new in the box for about 70 bucks shipped.
  6. I seriously can't answer this with a 10 item limit.
  7. P-line CX and Flouroclear on all my setups!
  8. It looks as if Pflueger has replaced the President XT with the Purist. Similar build materials and stat line, except the Purist shaves around 2 oz. off of the weight in 35 size. Price is the same as well. Might pick one up before spring for my 6'6" M/F Avid.
  9. Point is that the frontier with a V6 should be able to handle 2,000-2,200 lbs. comfortably. If my 4 banger can handle 1,500 lbs. in the pocono mountains, you should have no trouble. Just check the weight of the boat you are thinking of upgrading to. I don't think too many 18'ers are in excess of 2,200 lbs. Maybe a few fiberglass rigs with high output outboards....maybe.
  10. That truck will tow your boat and stop without issue. I wouldn't worry. I have had more weight than that in my 2010 Toyota Tacoma 4x4.... And that has a 2.7L 4 cylinder and a 5 speed manual. What could that boat weigh? Maybe 1,500 lbs. loaded up max?
  11. Just posted my AVS63MXF their too. Looking to get 120 for it. Help me pay for my AVS66MF! LOL
  12. The grass minnow is a great swimbait. If you want to you want to bulk up, try the huddleston weedless shad. It is about 1/2" longer and about 2 dollars a pop cheaper than the grass minnow.
  13. Great rod...I have the 6'8" M/XF for weightless to light weight plastic rigs. The 6'10" version would work for your application, too.
  14. I have an 8" zoom lizzard texas rigged on my plastics rod 2/3 of the time. I usually fish them weightless and they are good producers.
  15. You should have power back, Mike. Wife called me at 1 PM and told me the lights were on.
  16. Mike is actually my neighbor. My first experience with him involved him fixing my tip guide on one of my rods.....for free. That should tell you something about him. The only guy I will ever go to when I need gear repairs or maintenance.
  17. Zoom 8" mag lizzards in pumpkinseed/black emerald Berkley 7" & 10" powerworms in black also 5" senkos in black.
  18. I have the interstate you have listed. 2 seasons on it and it has been great. especially for the 95 bucks I paid for it.
  19. Usually I use live target golden shiners. The 1/2 oz. size has landed LM bass, walleye, Rainbow and Brown trout, Crappie, perch, pickerel.... Even caught a landlocked atlantic salmon on one! The most versatile bait I own.
  20. You can catch most fish species in the lake on
  21. I used one for 3+ seaons until I upgraded to a LTB this summer. Good rod for the $.
  22. For a finesse reel I would look at the Pflueger Patriarch or Supreme. Both are great, light weight, magnesium bodied spinning reels. The Patriarch is the lighter of the 2 and uses higher quality bearings, but you can't go wrong with either.
  23. I used a 6'8" M/XF spinning model for 3 seasons before upgrading this year to a legend tourney in the same length and action. The guide insert on the tip fell out on me, but Mike at DVT is my neighbor and he repaired it for me free of charge. ( Good guy who knows his stuff.). It worked great for me besides that. It took a beating and I probably caught about 200+ fish on it. Used it with a Pflueger President XT with 10 lb. p-line cx. For 100 dollars, it worked well.
  24. ^ This. My rods are generally where the money goes, but dont buy a 200+ dollar rod and slap a 40 dollar reel on it. Most of my reels fall into the 80-100 dollar range (spinning reels), but the exception is my Pflueger Patriarch. As long as the reel is smooth, durable and flex free it should be fine.
  25. They are expensive... but every fish in the lake will hit their 1/2 oz. lipless cranks. They are the cranks I use 95% of the time now.
