  1. They are great but also try owner ultrahead's.Those two are my favorite for grass.
  2. I fish a lake with a mud bottom and moss.Wondering how you guys prefer to fish the bottom in the more open areas of the lake with plastics in this situation.I have tried everything t-rigs pegged and loose, shakey heads, unweighted, football, drop shot. Have had some sucess with all but it seems like i either end up dragging in weeds or my plastic goes un-noticed burried below the moss.Guess i am trying to find a good way to get that plastic slightly above the moss, mud and grass.i cant really use enough weight to feel what im doing or else i end up buried.Curious what u guys like to use, floating worms and large ones 8-12 inch usually work the best but as far as jig heads and weights i cant find anything that seems to produce better that the other. And im not refering to the areas with thick vegitation im talking about the relatively open areas.Unweighted works well but there is almost no cover/timber anything to cast at so i need to cover more water than weightless will allow.
  3. na i just gave a little turn maybe 1/4 in.And i dont think its just unscrwing because i wont screw back in.But either way i guess ill just go with something else.Anyone know where u can still find abu cardinal 502albi reels man i love mine.
  4. Oh and to specify, its not the actual handle that goes bad its whatever the handle connects to inside the reel.Gears or the threading on the cap screw that holds the handle in or something. I havent taken one apart to see.
  5. Yes pres. are great reels thats why i want more, and yes i may have tried to torture a few to make shure they where quality but i really do mean i applied very little pressure just a firm turn.Dont see how the handle would turn backwards in a real situation, but you never know.Like i said none of my 10 reels do this including my old model president and some real cheap ones.Im mainly concerned that this speaks for long term quality,of the reel if maybe parts are made cheaply.
  6. Has anyone had this happen or seen what i mean.I want to get some newer presidents to replace my old verson presidents but handling one in the store i turned the handle backwards to see how much the reel would flex because of concerns about how much my older president was flexing on rods with raised reel seats and the handle easily stripped or broke inside the reel somewhere and spinning the handle no longer had any effect.Yes the knob on the other side was tight.so i tried this with other reels and even my own and they where all fine except every new president and orra i tried.i didnt need to apply much pressure and every one broke and the handle just hung there lifeless.Anyone else noticed this i want to get a newer president but seeing this i think i will have to find older models somewhere or pick something else.
  7. I picked up a field and stream tech spec.rod a dicks on clearance for $30 bucks a 6-10 med light/fast tip.I already have a 6-6 med/fast carbonlite and plan on getting a 6-8 med x-fast carbonlite which i use for most single hook applications. What would u guys use this rod for i was thnking maybe weightless worms or drop shots?Idk but for the price i thought it was worth it now i just have to find a use for it.
  8. Has anyone else noticed how much flex there is when using a reel made of graphite with a rod with a suspended reel seat.specifically my pfluegger president on a lightning rod shock.I want to get another president but if its going to flex that much on most rods i think i will have to go with something aluminum instead.
  9. Luck e Strike floating worm a variety pack of like 60 all neon colors for a few bucks.Last year the orange was a hit
  10. Has anyone tried these? I picked up a couple and they seem really nice,i fish fairly stained water and was hoping maybe the louder clacking would help attract fish better than the usual BB's in most cranks.I do well with the DT 3's so i suspect these to work just as well.
