I fish this part of the Alabama River Below the dam I am wondering is a 10' surf rod by St Croix is overkill? I saw some large striped bass in there, I am going to my mount my Abu Garcia 6500C3 on it.
I order me a Abu 4600C4 baitcaster, for largemouth bass. I need to pick a rod for it, I am looking the St Croix premier line of rods I think a 6' med or med heavy will work for me, I fish from the bank I mostly a soft plastic fisherman but I am looking in using crank baits and spinnerbaits as well.
I mean to ask was the ML rod was a good all around choice for bass fishing. I tried a low profile reel but I did not like it so I took it back to the store.

I try this new pond out today it has a lot of largemouth bass and panfish it in. The largemouth bass is feeding on the shad thats in the pond and I am having a hard time catching the largemouth bass. I was using my favor lure a 4'' purple color worm. I also try a spinnerbait but no sucess. Do you guys have any suggests?
I got my first bass set up of the year rig up I went to Academy Outdoors and got me 6,6'' Falcon Original Med Action rod rated 8-15lb test 3/8-1oz lure. I pay $98.99 best of all its Made in the USA. I also mounted my Abu 4600C3 on it. I need to find a lure set up for it. I got get some pictures up once I resize them.
