  1. I'll let you know, Thanks!
  2. The week of April 15 - 20th , my fiance and I will be heading to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. We will be fishing for 3 days, hoping to do a day of trout fishing, a day of smallmouth, and the 3rd day, do trout or smallmouth again, whichever was more productive. I have a good idea where to go for trout, but not much clue on smallmouth. I know anything downstream of pigeon forge (Apple Barn) should old some smallmouth. We don't have waders, canoe, kayak, or anything, we'll just be fishing from shore. We don't mind a hike to get to a decent area, just lost as where to try. We'd be more interested in numbers over quality. Would the smallmouth be on beds then? Where should we look for some? Any tips on baits? Anything would be appreciated. We'll be staying at the KOA campground in Pigeon Forge, near the Old Mill. Thanks for the help
  3. Just contact a local tackle shop, and offer to buy them out of their old stock. I do that with a local one here and get them for $1 a bag, cheaper in bulk. Last year I bought around 150 packs. They need to clear out the old stock to make room for new stock. Only issue is you never get to choose the colors, it's just luck of the draw
  4. In fishing there is a fine line between Gimmick and Innovation, and to me this is 100% Gimmick. I feel like just because you take 2 time tested lures that work, you can't necessarily combine them and make a incredible lure. Wait till next year at the Classic when they debut the Prank2, the buzzbait/crankbait hybrid
  5. Jig Senko Plastic Worm Squarebill
  6. I use a mix of cheap and expensive tackle. Some companies make fantastic high quality tackle for very cheap or reasonable prices. My favorite spinnerbaits were $2 apiece at Big Lots, I have a Walmart brand rod I bought brand new for $10 in 2000 or 2001, stilll works great to this day, it's probally caught 1200 fish on that rod. I've caught tons of Bass on Berkley Havoc baits and they are always less then $2 a bag. Academy H2O crankbaits are fantastic and some of my favorite at like $3 each.
  7. It's interesting, but not for me. I work poppers very quickly and I think this would dive to much when I wanted a walking popper. Also seems like the cupped mouth would catch weeds badly
  8. It'd be cheaper to use a Zoom Finesse Worm
  9. This sale has been my downfall. I went from owning 0 Trokar hooks, to now I'm the proud owner of 62 packs of them. I'm good for a while now
  10. To everyone who can't find the Trokar hooks in stock at Dicks (2 packs for $5.99), the same deal is online at their website, and they have more options. I bought more this morning there, and they had free shipping on order $25+, and had almost every style and size in stock including weighted swimbait hooks
  11. Brandon from Suffolk, Va asks - What modifications do you do to your lures before you use them, especially more less known ones?
  12. Dicks Sporting Goods (at least locally) has Trokar hooks at $5.99 per pack and Buy 1 Get 1 Free, this makes the Trokar's $2.99 per pack. I've already bought 30+ packs.
  13. Abu Garcia for Baitcast Pflueger for Spinning
  14. I like BIG baits! I feel like it threatens the bass more so they strike quicker and harder. 8 - 12" Lizards are great.
  15. My local Dicks has Jawbone items on sale 5/$10, which includes the Sunfish. I just bought 10 of the Sunfish for $20 total
  16. Bass will spawn on anything they can find. I fish a old gravel pit that the bottom is like a bowl. VERY VERY VERY little shallow water, most of the lake is 20 - 40 feet deep, even 3 feet from shore. The bass will spawn on sunken logs, rocks, misc debris, boat ramps, tires, etc
  17. Bluehead Chub or Horned Dace?
  18. My favorite is a odd one: Hookin them lips by Drastikk Look on Youtube
  19. If you make he drive to Suffolk (about 45 minutes) you'll have MANY more options. Lone Star Lakes (11 Different Lakes on site) Lake Prince Lake Cahoon (also has boat/trolling motor rental) If you go to Chesapeake (1 hour away) Oak Grove Lake Park All the lakes and canals around Greenbrir Mall (miles of water) Northwest River Park
  20. I use the Brush head 95% of the time, I also make my own

  22. Just pointing out that the bait at Allbaba and the Trout Glider are slightly different. The biggest difference is the rear hook hanger, the Chinese one the hanger comes out of the bait right at the body, the Trout Glider comes out at the end of that fin. I've never seen either in person or tried either, just looking at pictures
  23. To name a few not already mentioned Kerr Reservoir and Lake Gaston in Va
