  1. I love the little pond in the video
  2. I've been fishing there over 30 years and know enough to write a book about that place. What lake were you fishing? What time of day? I'm getting ready to move to Isle of Wight and if you can help me find a few lakes out that way, I'd appreciate it. Let me know what you need to know about Lone Star.
  3. We do the same thing with dog food and bread in saltwater creeks and can catch 100's of gudgeons in each trap
  4. Your a braver man then me, between water moccasins and the millions of snapping turtles around here, I won't go in it, and if I were to fall in, I'm lightening quick to jump out
  5. What do you bait it with? Hot Dog? I assume meat of somekind
  6. Can you catch crawfish in the minnow trap? Just asking since they sell a similar trap made for crawfish, that looks identical except for a larger opening
  7. Hit the Chowan River, one of my favorite places around.
  8. Northwest River is worth the drive. Very scenic, lots of lilly pads, fallen timber, cypress knees, and such. I've always done well there with good numbers of fish but not much in Big bass. The river is also very good for Yellow Perch in early spring
  9. For me PBJ, catches more then any other color, but I fish a lot of clear water.
  10. I'd love a Deals subforum, but I doubt it'd ever happen
  11. I searched the entire Senko sticky and couldn't find the answer to this. I'm trying to maximize all my fishing time on the lake, and save as much time as I can. If I plan on fishing a wacky rigged Senko a lot during the day, wacky rigged, Can I take a bag of Senko's and slide the o ring on each one before hand and put them back in the bag, without causing some damage or other negative effects to the o ring or worm? Seems like this would work and save a good amount of time. Thanks!
  12. I fish a small drainage pond at a nearby shopping area and have caught bass up to 7 lbs in there, and this pond is AT BEST 1/4 acres, and I doubt it's even that big
  13. On Kerr Reservoir years ago, the water was like 18 feet above normal pool, and lotsa of shoreline flooding was taking place. My partner and I both started fishing unsual places and catching bass. Under flooded picnic tables, kids fisher price houses, kids slides, etc
  14. Thick Cover with Jigs Isolated cover on points Bigger Baits for Bigger Fish A few off the top of my head
  15. I still can't catch them on a chatterbait, so don't feel bad
  16. I use 8 lb test very frequently on bass, and never have problems. I also have done a ton of fishing with 4 and 6 lb test for bass. As long as you have a good rod/reel and a quality drag, you'll be fine.
  17. I'm thrilled to see another Senko thread, seriously. They always get locked, but there is some good info here thats "new" and not in any of the standard Senko threads. I hope we can keep this one going with more tips. Thanks!
  18. I've never been but heard it's good, but also full of pickeral.
  19. Here's a few to check out: The lake behind the Geico office Mt Trashmore Lakes at Lynnhaven Mall
  20. Find a pond or local lake full of fish, I found a lake packed with stunned fish that maxed out around 10 inches, but there were 100's of them, when I taught me girlfriend to fish. I started her off with the small super flukes, so they were weedless, and she was able to learn to cast, work the bait, set the hook, all by herself. Also she was able to get constant bites and catch tons of fish her first time out, now she's addicted Beginners care more about constant action and quantity then quality.
  21. I'd like to see Triton give the guy that won it a free boat too. The true winner of the boat did a amazing thing and I'd like to see him get a boat also.

  23. Since it looks like Pony Pasture is a dud, any other ideas for good fishing near richmond?
  24. GREAT! It's down to either Pony Pasture for smallmouth or the Upper James near Covington for smallmouth, just trying to decide
