  1. My girlfriend loves her Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier bait cast reels, but will get frustrated in wind with birds nest. I figured if I switched out the spool for a shallow spool it would be easier for her to fish. Never switched out a spool before so how do I know what size to get? Or will any fit? Thanks for the help
  2. I’m convinced the cut matters. I take the bottom and cut even to within 1/2” of the hook bend. Then in cut upward from the bottom randomly 7-8 times. Turn the jig upside down and trim near the hook with thinning shears. Then flip the jig again normal and cut random skirt individual pieces 1/4”-1/2” from head. Maybe 12 total pieces. Lastly I then go thru and make sure each individual strands are separated from each other for independent movement.
  3. I’ve used the 3” as a Ned rig bait, Texas rigged and wacky rigged. All worked well
  4. If you go to dollar tree they have a pack of generic super glue in like .1 oz packs. You get like 3-5 pa is for $1. I use them most so even if they dry out you don’t waste much. One pack will last a day
  5. Wish I saw this when I placed my order. Dang it!
  6. I have hundreds of Bassmaster magazines from current back to the last 80’s. I have about 150 bass magazines, 20 Bass fishing books, and about 8 or so odd ball fishing books. Some of the authors of the Bass books are: KVD, Iaconelli, Shaw Grigsby, Tom Mann, Jimmy Houston, North American Fiaherman, etc. I’d really like to sell all these as I currently have them in storage and need to clear it out. Take everything for $100 shipped. Great way to learn a new technique, see lure modifications, etc. I have pictures, they are just too big to post. PayPal only
  7. OT Fears is on Facebook and responds to autograph request. I got him to sign some crankbaits and trading cards. I love the look of the autographed crankbaits.
  8. Academy Sporting Goods has some great bluegill crankbaits.
  9. The last pic is Rapalas
  10. So I've done the same thing for about 2 years but I've found the paperclip is to heavy a wire and will rip softer plastics. So I do everything the same as you I just use Christmas ornament hangers as the metal. They are dirt cheap, especially after Christmas. Easier to cut, bend, and work with.
  11. I agree the Academy Terminal Tackle box is amazing. I have 3 and can't imagine anything better
  12. I have that bait, not a fan as the hook on it is tiny!
  13. I don't know how to post pics here but I grabbed 100 packs of Strike King Rage Menace's in Blue Craw at a rediculious deal
  14. No question here, get the Academy Sporting goods ones. Built much stronger and better material and even cheaper then BPS.
  15. I have huge tubs like 2 feet high, 3 feet long and 2 feet wide full of packages of soft plastics. Some full packages, some a few baits missing but clearly enough baits to last a few lifetimes. Probally should sell off most of it to buy more baits I use.
  16. I really miss the Havoc line of baits. Such good baits at a great price
  17. Here's the ones I enjoyed: Fishing on the Edge by Mike Iaconelli Think Like a Fish by Tom Mann Sowbelly by Monte Burke Bassmaster by Shaw Grigsby Caught Me a Big I'm by Jimmy Houston
  18. I just use Tungsten. Partly due to the sensitivity, but mostly cause I don't like the rough edges on lead bullet weights. If you look you can find tungsten bullet weights says 3/8 oz and below for not much more then lead
  19. I think the St Croix travel rods are amazing. I have 3 and each perform perfect.
  20. Just curious what did that cost cause I have a few reels that need some TLC
  21. I'm in if this is still going
  22. Those Academy Terminal Tackle boxes are amazing. I have 3
  23. For certain situations, I fish a jig with no trailer and do fantastic. Spinnerbaits no trailer, chatterbaits always have a trailer.
  24. I'm excited for the SK KVD J100 JERKBAIT and the Bed Rage Craw. I think that thing rage craw will be a killer on a bitsy bug sized jig
  25. Thanks for o this thread I ordered the Academy Terminal Tackle box online.
