Awesome. I want to get on plane to be able to cross the lake but I would like to do it safely. I want to use my boat for duck hunting as well. I was looking for a cheap jon boat I could get with a motor but I cant seem to find one so I thought I might get 5hp outboard and put on the back of it. How fast do you think you go in it? 10mph?

Hey guys I have small 9ft. plastic pond boat. It is a bass buster to be exact. Anyways right now I have a 46lbs thrust trolling motor on it but the boat jsut moves too slow with me, my gear, and my friend in it. I want a 5hp outboard to get me to where I want to fish and then when I get there use my trolling motor instead of using my trolling motor to get there. Anyways does anyone have 5hp outboard like the Briggs and Stratton on their mini bass boat? How fast does it push the boat? Thanks Robert

This boat is the same as my boat. I love my boat because I can get into hard to reach places and catch fish. MY boat has a livewell with an aerator,a battery box and plugs for trolling motor and lights on the front and rear. These boats are very stable to and great for 1 person. Let us know what you end up getting!

I have a 9ft. mini bass boat. I love mine. IT is a comfortable but small boat. I can get into the small places where the big boys dont go and catch some fish. I just drag mine on the grass to my truck. Not too heavy, I might think about getting one of those Cableas carts for my boat. Looks like it would be alot easier. Thanks

Thanks for the help guys! I forgot abour rod holders ... I will besure to add them. I might make me some small boxes out of wood and put them on the sides of the boat. If I keep it in the garage do I need to put a tarp over it still?

Hello, I recently got a little 10ft boat. I was wondering if you guys have any pics of what you did with yours. I am a young angler who just wanted a cheap boat so I could catch fish. I am going to get a fish finder on my boat and put my trolling motor on it so I can fish small electric only lakes around here. I was wondering if I could do anything with my boat ... so I could make it like a project boat. Anyone ever tried to add a small front fishing deck? This is what my boat looks like.

Alright I think I am going to get an outboard when I get enough money for working over the summer. I want one that will work for duckhunting and fishing. What do you guys think about the Briggs and Stratton 5hp outboard for 700? Anyone used one? How do they perform and are they reliable? Thanks

Hello Guys, I am going to be getting a jon boat soon to fix up. I just bought a 46lbs thrust trolling motor this weekend to use on my neighbors boat. I am going to be fishing small lakes anywhere from 50 acres-1000 acres. Do you guys recommend getting a small outboard to get around or do you think a trolling motor and a few batteries will work? I am trying to find a good deal on a boat just not sure if I should be looking for one with a motor. Need some advice please. Thanks Robert

Hello, I am a young angler and dont ahve too much money too spend so I am looking for a good 12ft.-16ft. used jon boat that I can convert into a bass boat. I need to have a trailer with it though cause I get my truck in May so I want to get this boat soon so I can start working on it so it will be ready for the lakes when I get my truck. I will need to have the title on it though so I can drive it on public waters though. I am not looking for anything too expensive, just something good cheap boat so I can make it into a bass boat, add livewell,paint it, ad decks,etc. I do not need a motor butit would be nice if it did. Hello, MY dad just bought a 50 acre lake recently adn I want to get some minnows to raise for myself to use as baits. I have a big water trough I am going to put these in. They are going to e outide but I can not feed them because I will not live with them . They will be next to the lake. I would liek to know if they will eat the algae of the bottom of the trough or do I need to feed them? Also I need to get an aerator( I think) so do you know of some good ones( maybe solar power if made)? And other supplies I will need to raise these minnows? Thanks RObert

Hello, My dad just bought a new property and it has a 50 acre lake on it. The property down the road from us stocked there lake a while back and there is a creek that runs from there property to our property. When it rains, that creek gets full and all the fish swim down the creek into our lake. Our lake is overstocked with fish. We have alot of bass and crappie maybe a few cats too havent tried fishing for tehm yet. Only been crappie and bass fishing out there once and everyone I caought looked unhealthy, you could tell it was overstocked. I want to do something to help out the fish for food and cover. I am not sure what to do though. I am thinking about finding a cheap fish feeder and put it out on the dock and feed them so all the fish will get food. Anyone know of one or someone who is getting rid of one please let me know. What do you guys think this will do to the fish? Also I want to give the fish some cover for spawning, etc. It is all open with no tree or anything. What should I do to make some shade and cover for the fish? I thought about cutting some of the trees down out there and putting them in the water around the shore lines. What do you think this will do for the fish? Help or not? If you have any suggestions on what to do with this lake property please let me know. We are overloaded with fish and not everyone can eat, and all the fish I have caught out of there are all beat up and small. Any suggestions? Thanks Robert :-/

HEy Guys, I got my newspaper the other day and saw that Academy had the Minn Kota 30 lbs thrust trolling motor in it for 79.00. What do you guys think of this motor? Been loooking for a good trolling motor to push my 12 ft. jon boat with me and my buddy in it. Is this a big enough motor to push us around on a private 50 acre lake? Thanks Robert
