I tried the Zoom Super Flukes in White Pearl, Arkansas Shiner and Watermelon Seed. Casted a whole day of them without a bite. Casted them a few times while on the boat without a bite too. 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu, black, Texas rigged, sometimes weighted but mostly weightless. I gave up on them. I might try them some other day in the future but for right now I'll be using my new jigs!
What trailer are you using? Maybe it's scaring the fish away or the fish think it's too much for them to eat Try shortening the trailer (the top part where you start hooking it), making it a lower profile jig.
If you see a fish coming up, try letting it sit for a couple seconds, if the fish stops and stares, pop it again, if the fish is coming up towards it fast, wait and see if it hits it, if not, pop it.
yeah I've seen all the videos on it plus the action video, it swims really well, I'd like to see if anyone on here has it and gets a lot of fish with it, I have no problem spending 50 bucks on a lure if it brings a nice fish every cast or 2 like in the youtube videos
For 5" Zoom Super Flukes I use a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu black. I do texas rig. I haven't caught 1 fish. (new to softbait, I love topwater)
Might want to try a 5/0 hook with the mag.
So far I have these in my list, might add some other colors too I hear the red one is good for the Xr75.
XCalibur® Xz2 Zell Pop Hardbaits - Foxy Shad - 2-3/4" 38-250-603-99
XCalibur® XCS Square Bill Crankbaits - 2" - Foxy Shad 38-252-999-99
XCalibur® Hi-Tek Xr75 Rattle Bait Hardbait - Foxy Shad 38-250-029-99
Question 1) Is the Xr75 better than the Strike King Red Eye Shad?
Question 2) Does anyone use the Xr75 in Blue Shiner color? Is it very effective?
Question 3) Is the Blue Shiner the quality of BassPro.com (Image 2, #42) zoomed in, or is it pretty much a bad quality picture? It shows a really cool looking one on TWH (is this website banned from the forums?? was trying to post a direct link to the picture but can't)
or what about the XCalibur® XCS Square Bill Crankbaits? what's the positives and negatives of using the lipless vs lip crankbaits?
I got my order today and I want to let you guys know that I respooled my reel with it and put some KVD L&L on it prior to casting (casted about 40 minutes after)
It worked wonderfully, zero twists, really smooth and far casting. I got hung once on a rock or something and it took a LOT more force to break the line vs the other (new too) 10lb Berkley.
I casted a heavy bait really far, just letting the line flow off and had no issues at all.
The line itself isn't circled anymore either, it's pretty straight.
I bought the #6, some KVD Line & Lure and a bag of Senko's, 5" Watermelon Black Flake.
Hopefully this weekend I'll catch my first fish on plastic worms. Tried Zoom Super Flukes a few times didn't even get a bite.
I mainly use Rapala Shallow Shad Raps, would a swivel be recommended on that line? I'm also trying out Super Flukes and hopefully get some senkos to try later on.
