I recently did the same thing. At the begining of the year I got some jigs and some spinnerbaits. Tried them both, now that spawn is starting up the spinnerbait is getting bit and my confidence is growing. Jigs are harder so far. I feel they are going to take more time to catch fish period, lot more to learn in way of where to throw, how to work, sublty of changing trailer size/shape/action. weigh of fall, type of jig etc. Just my personal experience for you to think about my observations.

I hear great things about the energy pt's and the older models are hard to come or pretty pricey used. New models I would go smoke, energy, kinetic. the hell cat looks interesting. But I won't budge off my pflueger spinning reels. Only quantum I buy are BC reels unless I get a deal on a smoke inshore spinner.

One more thing the gander gsx quantum( kinda same as the code/accurist) reel I saw that on sale for 79 from its 99 reg price.

I forgot to mention I own the older model energy PT. I know friends that have them as well. Also friends that use the quantum code. It is probably the cheapest alum frame reel out there. It ain't the fanciest or prettiest but they say it gets it done. Couple of buddies I talk to use lews, nothing but good things about those as well. Pm bassnlou he owns a couple different models he probably can give u the run down.

Dude I hear good things about the accurist and at $120 ish the catalyst is there too. Check out this site called Reds Gear it has some decent deals. It is ok if you don't like shimano. I don't either, they will get over it lol If you feel like hunting around look for the older model Energy PT. some place discount and some have yet to, but you should be able to pick one up for around a 100.

That is cool. I just picked up my oldest girls princess pole around Christmas. We had to get some pink grubs and spinner to match lol

I believe on or two of my co workers own the Ruger. I will ask around. But from what I seen of Henry they make an affordable gun. I personally like their lever actions and that they do work with BSA for what my two cents is worth.

Yes I see your point if all parties are civil to one another then the open carry shouldn't have a problem showing ID and the thing should be a nice quick and friendly process....after all we are both working towards the same goal a safe and peaceful society. Problem is one or the other have attitude, someone has to be big, bad or right. What's it called...pride? Lol no body wants to work together.

Here in FL you can open carry on the way, during and returning from any legal hunting or fishing activity. That said I recall a video of a gentleman and his son being harassed by a cop in Texas for openly carrying a rifle on a hike. Both parties came with attitudes and the situation went down hill from there. We all can honestly say some Leo's do have a "god" complex going on with their "supreme" authority. It is also best that folks and police a like know the laws for their city or state. Open carry is I feel a far better deterant than cc in that everyone knows where you stand before a situation ever escalates. And in counterpoint to the original observations of open carry, there are folks who cc that love to push situations to be able to flex their concealed muscle. There are dumb folks for either side, but most folks who comply with these laws are responsible law abiding citizens. And ideally, maybe a little utopian, but wouldn't a law abiding citizen open carrying be ideal for a Leo. In fact state any concealed weapon to be ban forcing all "good guys" to display thus making it easier to distinguish good folks from bad? Anybody with a gun in their waist band gets a trip to the pokey.
