  1. Thanks guys.
  2. The biggest of the 4 I got today, third time is a charm, started working the pond with a rebel popper, got 1 about 12 inches on that, after I worked around switched to a red shad zoom trick work got a 9 incher on that near where I got this one. Then switched to a june bug red flake rattlesnake and work from the opposite corner back to this one in the area where the sun was laying across, first cast got me a 15 incher then made it to the other side where I pulled this one out. Here is the smaller one on the rattlesnake
  3. Yeah sounds pretty close to mine. I don't have a rod rack though, I have to strategically wedge my rods around a folded cardboard box. No kidding.
  4. http://www.evergladesplan.org/pm/projects/landing_projects.aspx Number 8, PSRP, is the restoration project currently going on that is a restoration and 3 pump stations, that is over by Naples. I was there for the tail end of the project when I worked in Tampa for the Corps consultant. There is also Number 13 that is going to increase water levels in the east.
  5. Cabela's has a lot of 1.99 lures for their online sale this year.
  6. Rebel Pop-R, Zoom Horny Toad, Buzzbait.
  7. Evan Williams 90% of the time, Jim Beam, Makers or Wild Turkey the rest.
  8. I be a Senior Civil Designer for a Design Build firm.
  9. I have been using a popper or buzzbait/zoom frog to start usually before sun up to just after sun up, then switching to a worm or a gulp minnow after working the areas I want.....worked well until all the rain this week, been difficult of late. I only fish mornings before work from 530 am to 730 am.....weekends I might go until 9 ish.
  10. Yeah about a month ago, 2.00 for all the owner hooks. Crazy....does it mean they are stopping carrying them? Eagle claw only???
  11. Heard fiests can be good little hunting dogs. You hunt her? How big is she(I am assuming it is the one standing sideways)?
  12. Good looking dog. We have very good friends that own a french mastiff. We love all 165 pounds of that drool factory. If they weren't the size of small cattle we would deffinitely consider getting one. LOL
  13. Unless your a furry critter. LOL
  14. That is pretty cool. I have seen them before on one of my vacations. Picked it up with stick, have a pic of it lol. Man they sure look like they would be good eating, wish I could try some.
  15. Of course my family, love fishing with my 5 yr old can't wait for my babies to come along too but ..... professionally I would say Shaw Grigsby, I like watching his TV show and he is a North Florida guy, class act. Bed fishing and Smallies. I would like to pick his brain.....
  16. I am a proud owner the feared and hated American Pit Bull Terrier. Right now I have this rescue mutt Daisy. Long Live the American Game Dog.
  17. Try to get a topo map of the lake. I know when I lived in VA the Fish and Wildlife website had very basic maps that would locate, the depths every 2 feet, docks, dams, man made structures. It wasn't the best but was helpful in locating drop offs, deep water coves etc. Also read up on what season you are in(spawn, post spawn etc.) in your area and use it as a guideline to locate the fish as well as identify what techniques may work well. And lastly, I know I keep posting it, but the big thing is to not get too close to where the fish are. if you can stand back off the bank do so, cast parrallel(forgive my spelling) to the shore etc. Hope this helps good luck.
  18. Love any of the Stone City Brews, any Sierra Nevada(bigg fooooot), Shipyard, Full Sail and Sessions. Cheap beer, is mostly what I drink now Mickeys, Busch, if I step it up a knotch my go to is Yuengling. I will also give a couple shout outs to Bold City here in Jax and Cigar City in Tampa the are some good up and coming breweries you Florida drinkers out there give them a try, pricey though. I also like a good Whiskey and Whisky, Evan Williams Bourbon, Bushmills for my Irish and Laphroaig for my hunk of peat islay scotch.
  19. I thought you and a few other might get a kick out of that. I liked the guy holdingthe camera trying to film and fend the fish off with his foot. LOL
  20. WIth that said, I own a Pflueger President and a Pflueger Templar reel. If you do searching you will find the President XT or Templar on Ebay brand new for 30-60 bucks. Any Pflueger spinning reel is a great reel for the money IMO. A great rod I am happy with is the Bass Pro Shops Carbon Lite. I have a 6'-6" MH and love it. I think they are on sale now for 79.99 too. That is what I have my Templar mounted on, it casts great. Man my Abu Cardinal 500's from like 20 years ago are setup like that second Shimano..... I love the drag knob! The fast bale lever is cool too, but I like a drag knob.

  22. Becareful what you harvest, some places it is illegal to possess grass carp. I know here in FL you are not allowed to harvest and up in VA too, they are/were stocked as weed control. I am assuming the "asian" carp is one and the same as grass carp because most Wildelife Management districts only post grass carp as the one and only carp species in the waters?
  23. Have you tried soft plastics? a texas rigged ribbon tail or finesse like a shakey worm work it nice an slow try colors that match bait fish or watermelon or pumpkin.... maybe some Flukes....Top water has been good for me latley as well, Rebel Pop Rs, Zoom Frogs and Buzzbaits.....Also another big thing I learned is how fish can easily see you. So I have backed off my approach, don't get up on the shoreline stand back a little and work an area when you first appraoch, I try to stay back as far possible.
