  1. Really? I already hooked u up with info bro. I still get no answer on where your hot spots are. LOL How did yall do this morning? Where did yall end up going? Tired a entirely different spot today, tough morning only bite was a nice one near shore, jumped and threw the hook - worm got balled on it and wasn't a good set.
  2. I have them too and agree they are pretty good for $25 bucks. I also have a pair of Columbia polarized(got them free from eyedoc don't judge me) they are retailing for twice as much and are half as good as the strike king.
  3. Yeah and what fishes in trees said is dead on too, good post.
  4. I pretty much am an exclusive shore angler. You can fish pretty much any lure from shore imo. Big keys I have learned that I was doing poorly in the past are, stay back from waters edge, and cast parallel or fan cast. Find angles that you can work you lure into strucutre or corners without being right up on the spot. Work all the angles you see. An example is today I worked an inlet pipe left to right, stood behind off the bank and worked toward it then kept moving and did a fan cast and cast back too it boom got a hit. Hope this helps, good luck.
  5. Some of the Best ones up there have elec motor only requirements.
  6. Do tell.....I have heard of one over by Argyle holding some big fish.
  7. Different pond, same area, got a couple more, should have had 3 this morning but the third I got sloppy on the hook set. All 3 on killer bee black/yellow zoom frogs!!! between 5:50 and 6:20 am, both were fat, the second one must have been playing centerfield, as soon as it hit the water he must have sucked it up, i reeled and was like why isn;t my frog buzzing, whole thing down the gullet....worm bite was not on after that.
  8. Where u at? I used to live there. If you checkout the Virginia Fish and Wildlife web page you can get lake info by county. They also have stocking lists, topo maps etc.
  9. Checkout this months bass master magazine if u can they have an article with Dean Rojas, also just saw an online article about frogs at bass master *. Hope this helps, I don't use them, just recall reading about it.
  10. Great story man, that has got to make u proud. Love it especially the Ray Lewis part, him and Ed are a couple of all time greats, they need one more Super Bowl before they can ride off into the sunset.
  11. Where is the Westside exactly? I am down on Old St. Augustine and 95. Don't get much past Butler except for work.
  12. Bomber Square A in Baby Bass Bandit 100 in Chart/Blue back Bomber Balsa B in Chart/Black back Rattlin' Rapala Chrome/Blue
  13. Mine haven't broke, and the guy that recommended them to me I am sure he hasn't had trouble with them. I guess I will stick by them until they fail me then I may consider a pricier option. Thanks for the input. Performance wise did u have any issues? How did they stack up catching fish and running(when intact) in the water to other baits because I honestly like it better than a bomber suspending or any suspending rapalas and would say it is as good as the LC maybe just behind but for the price I can't beat it(yet) I would recommend them to the op, try to get some cheap and see if u like them before u drop ur cash on the pricier stuff. Is there anything as good that are more cost efficient than the LC pointers? Just trying to play devils advocate here because they do add up 18 bucks a pop ain't cheap for that I can almost get 3 Diawas in 3 colors and I haven't seen a bad review on some major websites.
  14. Just to throw something out there. How do the Diawa db, dr minnows stack up to the LC pointer in your guys opinion? IMO they run true out of the box, have a great finish and run in the temp ranges stated above for like a third of the price. Diawa blows the competion out of the water for product performance versus price, now that is worth it.
  15. Thanks man. It is pretty close to racetrack, about 10-12 minutes maybe it was on the list I gave you. Where is the spot on racetrack at? Haven't fished in St. Johns yets, there are a few ponds I know of before you get into Julington Creek.
  16. Nice man, u still on a roll! Keep them coming!! U gonna get that big bass today?!?! Lol I took my son out, got 1 small one and broke off a nice 2-3 pounder this morning. We are about to get a little rain for the next few days.
  17. Hey man u are right around the corner from me and another member. We have some spots that work, looking for more. Message me I would be glad to help u out. Oh congrats on the baby man, I got 3 kids my oldest fishes with me sometimes my 3 yr old talks about it, but he is a mess. I am sure ur boy will be hooked too.
  18. Berkley trilene for my spinning, 4# for my kids reels, 10# for my gear. Got 1 spinning reel with 20# spider ez braid not really won over on braid. My favorite setup has 10# stren megathin walleye, love it casts a mile.
  19. Nice one man, u had a good week.
  20. Have you seen the Ultra light by Rapala? I think that comes in rainbow trout. Or the Original floating Rapala that comes in the size you want.
  21. ^^^^^ Well said man. I echo Nitro's statement and thank everyone that served their country and wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend.
  22. a couple of nice catches! That jack is a beauty, thanks for sharing the pic.
  23. Texas rigged weightless. The hardest thing for me fishing texas was learning to SLOW the bait down. I was fishing way too fast, and with way too many hard twitches and jerks. Once I slowed down and let the worm do it's own wiggle is when I started to really get the bites. When I say slow take 2 seconds per revolution on the reel. Just keep trying, vary your speed and presentation and you will find out what works.
  24. I have spider EZ braid 20 pound on an old Abu Cardinal 563 Used it three times so far. no problems so far, works fine, only problem was the lure slipped on a improved clinch..been using palomar and a little longer tag. I have been using a rebel popper on it. Guy at Bass pro recommended cuz he said it was decent, cheap and not a huge hit if my reel didn't work with it.
