  1. My wife was reminding this time last year we were at Gander Mountain. I was picking out fishing line and getting a couple reels strung and she was in the car in labor ( the pain started on the way she insisted I go in while she stayed and had no urgency) It wasn't until the phone call but by then I was next in line. so wouldn't you complete your purchase?.....ah the memories that they never forget. Just like every time we see ESPNs Mike&Mike that recalls the memory of our first born because I am reminded that is what we watched in the delivery room while see lay there in pain. Sorry to be so sentimental just thought I would share.
  2. Yes I cut them down and they still work. Usually cut the end off if it tears, you can get away with that 2 or 3 times. but I have cut them down to 3" for my son and it would catch dinks but he was happy. IMO the trick worm is the best action for all techniques versus price and amount. you get 20 trick worms for half the price of 10 stinkos that tear in half after 1 fish. Edit: when you cut them they will tend to pick up mor weeds, since the nice bullet shape is gone, but they will "push" more water, you also play with the angle you cut them too. 45 degree down it slides through weeds better, 45 degree up it pushes the worm a little deeper, and stright 90 up/down cut pushes the most water for disturbance.
  3. That is a face lift for your team. Yeah Haren is up and down. Trades are hard I can never be on the short end and most people are the same. I am just waiting in a pretty good spot for a playoff run. Pick the waivers for a five or six starter. Lol
  4. ^^Very good advice here, key is very very slow. Purples and reds are good colors, the two mentioned are the best IMO.
  5. Gotta agree with pflueger makes the best reel for the money. I would go as far as they make some of the best spinning reels on the market. My son has a president 20 and I have a Templar 35. They are smooth casting and great to use. We love them.
  6. Went bluegill fishing with my boys n dad today, they did alright. In between refing and baiting hooks I was throwin my new purchase some KVD finesse worms in mutilator, on sale at gander for 3 buck. Had two hits and misses. Stopped on way home at my spot had a 13 or 14 inch on 3 casts. Seems like temps are coming down and moon is going away, they are coming back.
  7. Did you see Abu is coming out with a revo shop? It was in the news letter email I got yesterday. Look on YouTube vid is called revo shop. You can buy carbon fiber parts for them. I think they're ad your mind. Lol
  8. I hope so man, will be good to get back to normal. Also I feel the full moon weeks are hard to fish normal fishing hours too. But regardless you had a great day, nice work! Congrats on all your records man!
  9. I will throw my comments in on the trick worm statements made.....Those things get bit all the time, now that it is hotter I will admit it is slower. I weightless T-rig them for the most part or Carolina(or u could mojo rig them if you just watched the vid) I go slow with them like really slow, and it works really well. close to weed lines or culverts and over grass beds. maybe you are going too fast? I use red shad and bait fish colors personally.
  10. Make sure turtles don't spoil your catch and take a chunk out of them!
  11. Nope Sorry man, I am talking about Jacksonville area. I forgot there is a racetrack road over there too LOL I only Saltwater fished, a handful of times when I lived in St. Pete, I know some spots for that if your interested. I also happened to run into the fish stocking list on the florida fish and wildlife site check it out man, Magiore and a few in hillsborough have been stocked with LMG and Blugills in the last few years.
  12. I was a few too late this morning on the cishek pickup. Going to hold off on the trigger right now on New Name Nunez. Guess you have to weigh the trade out. I played in an auto draft league and ended up with Santos and no other closer. I picked myers and hernandez up, luckily Arodolis turned into a closer. but saves are really the only stated they affect and we are a 13 catagory head to head. so I put more stock in a starter because quality starts, wins, whip, era, holds and saves are the catagories. So I got right now 2 closers, 2 guys that get holds, and the rest are starters. I am bout to thin the herd tho, some of them like Bedard and Oswalt are not working out. Ogano and santos are due back soon. So back to your trade you just have to weigh it out and see if having a money starter is worth more to your stats than pretty much saves cuz lets be honest they pitch one inning so they barely affect whip, and if they allow more than 1 they blow it, and the K rate is good but they pitch 2-3 innings a week, that is an ave of what 5 or so for most. you have a chance at picking up wilton on houston or another one of the would be should a closer move?
  13. LOL don't catch a trespassing charge.....one of the two big strikes was big like 4 or 5 pounds big. it is just hard to fish there, maybe if you do the shiners and not have to try to cast in that mess. If you wanna since you are in the area turn into Bartram springs right there is a pond on the right by the elementry school and a smaller one across the street by themselves think and they are not all over grown.
  14. Went out this morning to a new spot, got chewed up by skeeters. Didn't fish it long, but saw a few nice top water strikes and I had a light tackle with me, no top water. No worm bites and the spot is hard to fish due to the brush and the reeds, but it looks like it might produce a good one. These ponds are about 10 yrs old. They are the two ponds on racetrack one is right opposite the dog track entrance. there is even a little spot to park. Looks like they were hanging out by the edge of the reeds and busting fish that were coming up to bust the bugs. give it a try, take bug spray.
  15. Myers outta Houston for almost sure, gotta wavier wire Wilton. Hope J Putz is outta Az too I am sitting on my ex O Dave hernandez. U think what's his name Nunez is worth a pickup? Bell lost his mojo with no petco.
  16. I have had one hooked way back of the mouth and it took a good 2 or 3 minutes to get it out and back in the water. It was fine, swam away after a few seconds.
  17. Chipper Jones is the man. They sure don't play the game like he did anymore. Sad to see him go.
  18. Awesome fish, congrats to her.

I will keep yall posted. Friday evening I think me and the old lady gonna try and get in on some saltwater action.
  21. Dude the summer killed me last year in VA.....It is hard fishing up there already, so much pressure, not too many smaller ponds to fish, then add heat. My buddy up there now is getting skunked everytime.
  22. grande bass rattlesnake. It is ocaisionally mentioned but never hear anyone else fishing it.
  23. Thanks for the info. I was gonna check out the little jetties or down at the inlet at vilano.
  24. The 110 looks awesome but is out of my league. Deffinately would love to try the parabug on the ponds around here. Just watched the para bug vid on youtube. It is pretty cool. http://megabassitaly...06/07/para-bug/ Colors look goodl too.
