When I first started fishing I was all about horny toads but recently a buddy has shown me the value of the hollow body. I fish pad crashers almost exclusively when I do throw frogs
Like centrifugal better, ACS is the way to go. But I have two mag brake reels and they are good too. All it is is thumbing at different points during the cast really
Nope typical.....Try a bitters naked swimmer in bluegill.....or a Gambler EZ swimmer, gambler also has southern swim jigs with and without a blade in bluegill. Lipless are better choices of cranks because you can rip them free and control their depth better.
I would agree with the larger purchase and pay off over 2 or 3 months, but make sure you have the entire payment in the bank before you purchase that way 3 months doesn't turn into 3 yrs. Self control is the key and it is really hard. Good luck. Trust me from experience debt can run up quick, and stay for a while. Once they see you can pay stuff off they will start increasing the limits.
The best spinnerbait bait I been catching the most fish with is booyah but they are the ones that have been breaking on Lou and myself. Booyah has great customer service though and have sent me a couple new baits. I have usedWar eagle, H20, BPS are decent but not near the quality of the blades booyah uses and the vibration booyah has, now if the blades would just stay attached. I haven't had any issues with the double colorado tho, only the top willows coming off. Another brand to check out is Revenge. But those megastrike in those two colors bobby posted look like I will be trying them in the future.
The purist replaced the President XT in the lineup. It is similar to a president but with a sealed carbon drag.
President is a multi disk felt washer drag and is not sealed. The purist is better suited if you plan to do fresh and inshore. I have an XT and picked it up when they were on closeout, nice smooth reel like it, don't see why this wouldnt be the same.
The summit is basically the equivalent to a trion. I have 3 pflueger reels, president, president XT and Templar. All great reels this one should serve you well. I have heard nothing but good from folks that had the trion.
Daiwa exceler, look around for the older version can be had for $50. I have one good reel for $ I hear the BPS pro qualifier is another solid reel in that range
10" worms will work.....But I will assume you are bank beating ponds.....Bring hollow body frogs, 10" worms, some light bullet weights as in the summer they tend to go a little deeper. A favorite here is the gambler Big EZ or EZ swimmer. Flukes, spinnerbaits, texas rigged creatures, swim jigs.
