  1. Anyone know anything similar that you liked or use?
  2. Saw the little soft plastic mouse/frog at bass master.com so went to their site, nice stuff. Liked their soft baits, hard baits. what caught my eye was the fluid worm, especially in gill oil. Searched around didn't find much previously post so any info would be appreciated. Who has used these soft baits? Anyone use the fluid worm? How does their plastic hold up? Think their worth a shot? I know I usually use zoom or bitters, good stuff and priced nice. But I want to start expanding into some higher end/exotic soft plastics if you will. http://evolvebaits.com/?product=evolve-rx-fluid-worm
  3. Congrats man 8 pounds is awesome. Don't fish spinnerbaits often at all, maybe I should.
  4. I agree with Basshunter there is no reason to spend IMO more than $100 on a spinning reel and you can get the President XT for around 75 that is a super nice reel and should last you for years. You can also check out Lew's they make the speed spin reel in a resonable price range as well. It is comprable to the Pfluegers from what I read, I considered them before I got hooked on Pfluegers.
  5. WOW!!!! Can't believe the Cards pulled that one out!!!! Crazy, could we have a 1968 rematch???? (I always discount the yankees because well I am an O's fan and the yanks don't matter)
  6. you got that right, we recently got a new camera and that thing was set to 12mp out of the box, you couldn't even email a photo and the thing would fill up in like 25 pictures. 12 mp are like billboard size photos!!! LOL
  7. Great bite the last two weeks, as soon as that front left Wed it has been DEAD! supposed to warm and be steady mid 80's so hoping the consistent temp and a week of warmer brings the bite back for next weekend.
  8. For your spinning gear some of the best reels out there are Pflueger President, President xt and Supreme. You can get them starting at around $50 for the president model and the supreme is at the upper end of your range, but they are well made, smooth and nice finish. I have two Pfluegers a president and a templar(which is like a president xt). You can also watch ebay, sometimes you can snag a new in box for less than store price. If your targeting bass, walleye and larger game fish recommend getting a 35 or 40 size. that way you can have 8 to 12 pound line with no worries. The setup I use is a 35 series Templar with a Bass Pro Shops Carbon Lite 6'-6" MH rod and 8 pound stren megathin.Like Dave just said I have heard great things about the Shimanos but they are a little pricing and not my style. As far as rods, the Abus have nice ones the veritas or villians I hear good things about. Their new Inshore rod is only $99 and looks nice too. But the Carbon Lite is deffinitely my favorite rod I have owned and best for the money IMO. I have only thrown spinning gear my whole life, so don't worry if you like it stick with it. There are tons of people that do the same, baitcasting isn't a must. There are pros and cons to both. I have considered and still might get a baitcasting setup in the future but am happy with my spinning gear for now.
  9. Jeeze bluebasser those r bigger than half the bass I catch lol seriously nice fish though.
  10. Thanks man. Sadly the O's r done but can't complain I was just hoping for over .500 Surprised the Reds got bounced. Rooting for Nats now. Looking for a Det Was series with Was winning in 6
  11. ^^^got a chineese made S&W for 8 bucks not a smooth opener but good strong lock and decent blade. If u look there are some nice Buck, Kabar and bench made that are reasonable but made in Taiwan. Look into Moore Maker/bear & son for some decent carbon steel folders US made.
  12. That is awesome, you taught him well!......I know, it is hard to believe that he is has started school and my baby is walking. Times flies.
  13. Yeah try them in another spot. I will be honest I have tried the culprit in a few of the spots a few different ways but still no luck and I will also be honest I don't fish it with the most confidence or length of time. It is hard to break away from what is working. Nice thing about the bass is their prefrence usually changes and you have to change bait and style to keep up.
  14. I fish about 4 or 5 ponds and since I have been fishing them I have honed in on what works and doesn't some styles of bait work in all, some baits work in one and not the other, some colors work in all some colors work on in one. Maybe the fish in your pond just don't like the worm style or that particular color.
  15. http://www.doalures....ry/75/hooks.cfm I just started using the 3.5/0 the long neck is nice for the 5" flukes or the skippy shads, also use them for my zoom swim'n flukes too. since I been using the hook ups have been better than the BPS 4/0 EWG I was using I noticed the same thing about them pointing down. These are specific to plastic swim bait and jerk bait versus worm dunno if that makes the difference or not.
  16. Randal adventure makes Esee knives lifetime no questions asked warranty you break it they replace it and it is a 100% transferable. Just ordered one, will post some pics once I get it
  17. X2 no matter how I fish them or what color I use,
  18. Lived in St. Pete and now Jacksonville. Beaches and some aspects of saltwater fishing are better in St. Pete, but hunting and fishing in general are better here in Jax. Beaches aren't bad either just rougher and more of a tide change. Plus it is very easy to get around. I live in south Duval almost to St Johns county just off 95 and it is 20-25 minutes to downtown. No very much traffic at all. Your only two hours to Olrando and their lakes, you have Rodman and few other lakes and Palakta an hour or so away and the Okefenokee too. If you like the southern hospitality but with beach and florida living then Jax is the place. Also have the best schools in the state if you have kids.
  19. I fish a few ponds with that dark "tea" colored water. cloudy and rainy the best producer is a junebug red flake. Sunny, usually use red shad. but my best fish out of there have been on cloudy or rainy days.
  20. Gander mountain online is always free shipping no matter what. Their online selection might not be the best but it is decent and have some good online deals
  21. Sounds like a great day on the water. Nice fish.
  22. Great job by Brees, he is a great QB for this day and age. Johnny U is still the greatest in my book. No one was tougher , no one could lead under pressure like him. If you even want a good sports read check out Johnny Uthe life and times of Johnny Unitas by Tom Callahan Best quote from the book "When men played football for something less than a living and something more than money" much respect to the old time footballers who brought the game to the fore front.
  23. God bless her and your family. Prayers sent.

    My Boys Catch

Thanks all. We were in the car today riding to practice and he told me he should use that lure more often lol
  25. Went out with my buddy flyfishman and my son Saturday morning. Dave got there a bit before us, had a couple of blow ups and turned the spot over to me and my son. Thanks for that Dave. My boy cast, hooked and reeled this in all by himself. I am very pretty proud of him, this is his biggest fish on a lure, not using live bait. This is what it is all about, we had a great time. Here are a couple pics of the biggest fish of the day! He landed it on a 5'6" zebco rod with a pfleuger president 20 series on 4 pound stren mono with a black and yellow johnson beetle.
