  1. Yep circle hooks, I hook lip or below dorsal. With shiners I don't use a float, cast out and leave bail open, once u see line spooling off, close and reel. It practically sets itself and right in the corner of the mouth.
  2. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/washington-nationals-dan-haren-reach-agreement-120412 What do ya say Nats! They are serious, congrats to landing Haren!!! Looks like the playoffs are going to be a goal of their and not just one season wonders, which I am sorry to say may be true of the birds. Wish the O's woulda gotten this guy, he can strike some guys out!!!
  3. I will agree with you on that one. Gotta draw the line somewhere, and I draw mine when the misc. peices of said animal are large enough to identify which larger whole of the animal they came from.
  4. Souse is made with alot of the same parts but the main differences are the chunks are bigger, it is in more of a jelly texture, because scrapple is mixed with buckwheat it is mealy, scrapple gets it flavor from the spices added, souse I dunno what it tastes like(only seen it in the deli case and my grandmother eat it) and the biggest difference is souse is usaully eaten cold like lunch meat and scrapple is fried golden brown
  5. Thank you my fellow Marylanders, you guys must have missed the other thread in which scrapple was mentioned. I was saying how here in the florida they havent a clue what it is and what they are missing. Apparently it is a regional delicacy.
  6. Yes, I got my PB LM this year didn't have a scale would estimate it was a good 5 on the skinny side after spawn and about 22 inches. got another in the 4-5 range and landed one that was 3.9 pounds and 20.5 inches after I got a scale all on soft plastics!! This is only the second year fishing seriously, and my previous personal best was at disney world and probably 3-4 pounds on a shiner Oct. 2011. My 5 yr old son caught his biggest bass ever and my 3 yr old started fishing so he has his PB bluegill, no bass yet. It has been an awesome year!
  7. I bet she eats scrapple
  8. I have a MH fast carbon lite from BPS. I love the rod, use it for most anything, don't fish jigs, but fish senkos, flukes, poppers, jerk baits, Texas rig and weightless plastics. Great rods for the money. Also have a medium fast ugly stick, that thing is 3 times the weight of the carbon lite. Like LMG is dislike cork aswell. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a dobyns or E21 wild green
  9. Lol I kinda think the same thing but from the hunting photos and stories I have seen, plus some of the more seasoned doggers that have them, they must be something there.
  10. Even more fun when ur running them with a bulldog or a hard patterdale just get rid them f&$@ers
  11. Yeah that is what I like about the El Grande and Larry the lizard is how beefy the bodies and tails are compared to other lizards.
  12. El grande lures Gila monster will be the one I am picking up this year before spawn. I have also seen the Strike king Iguannas on sale lately u can pick them up half off.
  13. Nice fish, sounds like u had a good day.
  14. Trickworm, rattlesnake, lizard, KVD finesse worm. I like to go weightless in the summer near weeds clumps or culverts and slow drag it parallel to weed lines.
  15. Nice fish congrats man.
  16. Makes sense, they are both pure fishing brands. Lol guess they would share or use similar designs. Probably made in the same factory, saves the mother company $$ that way, lets just hope their fire extinguishers work.
  17. Not that one some random one near it off butler and belfort post office business park
  18. Sunrise, depending on when the sunrise is right now it is says 705 am. I am out there usually an hour before that. Best time today was 6:30ish-7 maybe 7:15. and I left at 7:45. I almost always fish the mornings due to work/schedules.
  19. Here are a couple from this morning, junebug redflake rattlesnake is deadly LOL nothing special just nice solid fish, landed 3 total all bout the same size. Was a good morning
  20. Wow sounds like I was fortunate not to go throught that!...Anyway glad to hear all went as planned, hope your recovery is a speedy one.
  21. IMHO from living and fishing here about a year I would say if you had the option I would fish a lake, rodman reservoir is a favorite for most people up here and have heard much about it. But if u were to fish the river further south the better, Palakta had the elite series this year, or I think it is lake Monroe by I-4. There is also lake George too. Now up here in Jax it is tidal and very salty. U will catch redfish and spec easier than lmb and u can catch lmb on live shrimp. but from reading reports it has been saltier than usual the past couple years, bluefish are in the river, and you are liable to catch stripers sometimes even down to the dam 80 miles from here. Hope this helps a little.
  22. Thought this was interesting read. You don't hear that much, at least when I lived up there, about them as quality table fare. http://news.msn.com/...nkenfish-eat-em But dang $26 dollars a plate LOL I think for that price I will stick softshell sandwich or a crab cake, hon.
  23. Lol Yeah it does not sound so good on paper. Kinda gotta try it, you won't be disappointed. Even my kids love it!
  24. Some great fish. thanks for sharing, good stuff
