Aaron Martens. He is the king of drop shotting and Drop shot is my go to technique when i cant get bit on anything else. And not to mention it can be used from the coldest parts of winter to the scorching heat of the summer
i had the exact same boat that i just recently sold and had a brand new 12v 45lb thrust min kota edge on it. in small lakes it did fine but during an 8 hour tournament i could tell it would get weak. id go with a 24v set up. better to have more and not need it than need more and not have it lol
I cant speak for the veritas but the duckett micro guide rods are amazing. The only down fall i have found is the guides getting a little icy this winter. but a quick dunk in the water every now and then has seemed to fix that problem
Thanks for the help guys. The ducketts have the smallest eyes I have seen. And I'm gonna see if I can get this albright knot right. I'm trying to keep the light as light as possible. Will 20lb power pro be too much or should I go smaller?
I have my mind set on the duckett micro magic 7' ML spinning rod and shimano stradic reel. My question is will a 2 or 3 foot leader work ok instead of a 7 or 8 foot leader? im pretty sure the knot will not go through the micro guides. i want to use this rod exclusively for drop shotting.
I have yet to catch a fish on mine but for the price it seems like a decent rod... i am anxious to check out lews reels and other rods. they seem like a really good product for the price
